Miller took a hell of a pop to the mouth. I think he even lost a tooth. If he steps up and hits both of these he'll have free beers in any bar in Chicago when he gets home.

:)

The Boston/Chicago matchup has the best games so far. Though Boston is missing a big weapon.

Allen tried to do a 'john stockton' on 7-footer Miller, lol. With 5 fouls already, what a moron!

Lame double foul imho.

I agree. Gotta let them play, and Ray Allen in no way fouled Miller.

Strange player. You want him taking the clutch shot for your team, but not the clutch free throw. He gets in trouble when he thinks too much.

LMAO, Rondo just bitch slapped Miller. That's a flagrant!

Not at all. Rondo was going for the ball.

Can't really fault him for not making that free throw; that shot to the mouth really hurt, I'm sure. He had time to take one more dribble and go for the dunk, though.

Dwight Howard went for 24/24.

I just saw the replay of him throwing that elbow at Dalembert... now *that* was a flagrant foul!

Nobody gives a shit who won the regular season MVP if you win the title. Hence even then it's still meaningless. Hence your original point of Kobe for MPV is also meaningless. Doubly so since they aren't going to beat Cleveland.
Did you miss the game in Cleveland this year?
Cleveland swept LA 2-0 the season before. I guess then that makes the Cavs a better team in '07 than the Lakers...right?

Everybody starts 0-0 in the playoffs.

It wasn't any more flagrant than the foul that Rondo put on Miller. Dwight was trying to shake Dalembert off after a pretty blatant hold. I don't think his intent was to land an elbow, just like I don't belive it was Rondo's intent to rake Miller across the mouth, even though he was nowhere close to the ball.

Dwight didn't draw blood.

If that was Lebron or Kobe instead of Brad Miller that would've been a flagrant foul.
Miller should've stayed down on the ground.

then again - Kobe or Lebron would've dunked the ball so...oh well

best series of the playoffs

Whether or not blood is drawn is irrelevant... Rondo looked like he was going for the ball, but too late. Howard had already most disengaged from Dalembert, and then slashed at him with his elbow. There's a big difference in a hand flapping in someone's face and a hard elbow driven by a muscular arm being driven into someone's head. Dalembert didn't do a good enough acting job...

Of course, IMO, flagrant fouls are issued too frequently, just like technicals.

If it had been LeBron, Rondo might have lost a hand.

I don't think Rondo was going for the ball. He was trying to prevent Miller from going up and tried to grab whatever was within reach. It just happened to be Miller's face. The way he hooked his hand around was telling. A bunch of us watched in slow-mo on the DVR a number of times after it happened and we all came to the same conclusion.

But Rondo will likely get off unharmed while Howard may have to sit out a game. Hard to say though. David Stern was at the Magic game tonight so he may have a different opinion of things.

Since Howard wasn't issued a flagrant, the NBA should not be able to retroactively suspend him. AFAIK, the NBA doesn't consider an "elbow" to be the equivalent of a "punch".

Maybe he'll be fined.

Mavs are hot at the perfect time this season! I don't have unrealistic expectations but it's great to beat the Spurs and I think the next series will at least be entertaining.

Well Spurs are done...........sucks to see them not try this series. They just seemed like they didn't care. Duncan's first time ever not going past the first round in the playoffs.

Agreed. I could see a fine. Wasn't exactly kosher, but it's not suspension-worthy either.
