Rondo's foul on Miller should have been a Flagrant. Pretty much any foul that's above the shoulders is called flagrant but oh well. Bulls go home and hope they can win there.

Geez, the Chuckster is practically lobbying for Howard & Rondo to get suspended. :(

Here's a real "flagrant foul" for those of you interested, although this was before there was such a thing.

Players driving to the hoop - or playing in the paint - get hit in the head all the time. You see players getting poked in the eye, or losing contact lenses. Those aren't called flagrant fouls.

Not to rain on your parade, but the Spurs were missing a vital piece to their team, along with Pop's ignorance on not playing Hill and sticking with Finley (WTF?) - while I always wanted to believe that the Spurs could have won this series, it's realistic to know that the Mavs truly should have swept them with the way they closed out the season.

But good luck against Denver, that's going to be a hard series since the two teams don't match up evenly at any position. I really think the only team who can take the Lakers would be Denver this season.

I just don't want the Cavs to be in the Finals.

Go mavs, spurs suck, hate them especially after reading about how dirty they are when they play. The whole running up to the shooter and sticking their feet underneath the shooter is just terrible.

So are you saying mavs-nuggest won't be entertaining? I already admitted I don't have any unrealistic expectations, ie I'm not thinking we will actually win.

plus bailing out of a playoff match half way through the third :S so much for "giving it your best shot"

Pop has always done this when the Spurs are down by more than 20. Go nut hug Lebron or Kobe some more.

and @ pd7, yes it will be entertaining because I suspect the Nuggets will have a field day with the Mavs.

Anyone else think Derrick Rose was on estrogen last night?? He had 6 turnovers, rarely went to the hole, not even when the bulls desparately needed him to, and he shot ZERO free throws for the game.

Bulls fans are lucky to have him on the team, but he's got a lot to learn.

Maybe he's fatigued, mentally as well as physically. After all, he's a rookie, and in college he played 30-35 games/yr. He's almost tripled that this season.

Possibly. Maybe he was letting turnovers and adverse no-calls get to him, which could be a sign of mental fatigue. He's generally been very strong this series so I'd like to think he's not hitting the 'rookie wall' right now, but if that's the case its not fair to be critical.

I'm hoping for the best, and am thinking he's going to come out with a point to make like he did in game 1.

Magic's Howard suspended for Game 6 against 76ers

ORLANDO, Fla. ? Dwight Howard has been suspended for Game 6 of the Orlando Magic's playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The NBA announced Wednesday that Howard will be suspended for his elbow on Sixers center Samuel Dalembert in Game 5 on Tuesday night. The two got tangled up going for a rebound in the first quarter.

Replays showed Howard's elbow hit Dalembert above the shoulders. Howard drew a technical foul for the hit.

Orlando will also be without starting guard Courtney Lee, who suffered a fractured sinus after taking an inadvertent elbow to the head from Howard later in the quarter. Lee's status for the remainder of the playoffs is uncertain.

The Magic lead the Sixers 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Game 6 is Thursday.

GO SIXERS!!!!!

Right on. I'll bet he feels like Superstupidman right now.

I'll be pissed if Rondo's foul gets completely overlooked by the league.

It will cus it's a small guard against a 7-footer. It's the Bulls vs Celtics. If you have to argue that it's a flagrant then it's not going to be called. I think it should have been called buy they are going to give the benefit of the doubt to the defending champs and a smaller guy vs a bigger guy. It would have been called if it was the other way that's for sure.

Damn. He's even taking out his own teammates with those elbows. Those things cost them two players in one game.

Regardless of whether the refs let Rondo off easy w/ the blatant flagrant on Miller, the Bulls should've won that game if they had somebody that can guard worth a damn instead of letting Pierce get into his comfy groove and shooting the lights out in the final 2 minutes. That's just poor defense. Nobody on on Bulls' squad can guard Pierce!

I don't know about that...Pierce is one of those few players that can get in an 'unguardable' zone. He's not lightening quick but he's strong and knows how to use his size to create space and draw fouls. Kobe couldn't even guard him last year in the finals, so I wouldn't put it on the bulls for playing poor defense. Bulls are way too mistake prone right now.

I will say that Da Troof becomes unguardable sometimes but the Bulls have been showing their inexperience. Not guarding Ray Allen and giving him open 3's, not doubling Pierce......those are things that need to be done within the last minute in a close game. Why make it easy for their top players to score?

Salmons on Pierce? WTF
Boston ran the same play three times (Pierce iso up top) and Salmons couldn't do jack.
I would at least try putting Tyrus Thomas on Pierce and see how that goes.
Hinrich is underrated as a defender but he's not good at guarding speedy guys like Rondo.

Rose needs to take it up another notch and start taking the rock to the rim. Rondo can't guard him at all.

Yeah I think Heat are done. Wade is playing w/ a broken back, poor guy. Nuggets are gonna finish off Hornets tonight at home!

I'm kinda surprised at all of the "conspiracy-for-the Celtics" talk. I would say that, overall, they do not get preferential treatment. In some cases, they kinda get screwed, but they bring it upon themselves with all the talking and whining at officials.

Maybe league officials felt bad that Ray Allen got screwed on those 2 foul calls in that game, resulting in him fouling out.

Salmons has not done a bad job on Paul Pierce, IMO. Sometimes Pierce gets into one of those zones where no one - not LeBron, not Kobe - can guard him from those crazy fadeaways.
