7.6 miles in a pair of new NB M730s. My local NB outlet had a 40% sale, noticed these shoes and bought a couple of pairs. Learned that they're based on the Minimus Road shoe but with a lower profile and more flexible imho. I liked how they felt and plan on using them for the marathon. Kind of cool that I'll be running a marathon in a pair of $30 shoes.

It was chilly here this morning, too. 48F, I was able to see my breath. Second day in a row.

Hush, you!! 48F was our high temp that day! 😉
Of course, I know come summer time, you'll be dying in the heat and humidity in FL, so enjoy your moderate temps while you've got 'em. Hopefully, our summer won't be so bad.

Got the first race of the season on Sunday, a half marathon. On Monday, I was on a short recovery run, when all of a sudden, it felt like someone stuck a hot knife into my left butt. Perfect timing for my piriformis to act up. It's been behaving itself for almost a year. I've been stretching, applying heat and popping ibuprofen all week. Went for a short 4 mile quick run and it felt fine today. Hopefully it will hold for Sunday.

Got out to the trails this afternoon. The rangers did trail maintenance and tilled up all the trails leaving them very difficult to run on. The sugar sand was deep and fluffy. 8 min/mile effort got me 10 min/mile pace for two and a half miles. So painful.

7.2 miles around Lake Minneola this morning. Took it nice and easy, almost a jog really. 9:25 pace. But it was beautiful out and my knee was tweaking from yesterday's run so a slow run it was.

+4 miles snowed again last night. I was going for a race pace type run but the snow and ice forced me to run slower. I'd call it a tempo pace.

Really bummed out that winter refuses to quit here in SE Michigan in mid march.

Another 61 miles for me. Ran a 5-mile race today in 27:17. Was in an all-out sprint duel with a local legend for the last 200m; he ended up besting me by maybe 0.1 seconds. Was great fun! Only one second slower than my PR, too!

1/2 marathon this morning. Several goals: 1) PR, 2) Finish in the top 100 (out of 2,500), and 3) Go under 1:35:00. Finished 98th with a PR of 1:35:21 (by 1:36). There was a wicked long up-hill at miles 9-10 that destroyed my pace. Well, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Excellent work Scorch and drteming! My next race isn't until 4/6, I can't wait. This one is WS qualifier and will get me into P2P.

7.1 miles today in 26 degree weather. Wind chills in the teens. Steady winds of 25-30mph gusting to 40mph. Snow flurries. 9:40 pace. Wind made it too brutal for anything faster.

Thoughts on the run. Spring where the hell are you? And do any of you have a suggestion for anti chapping cream for my inner thighs?

It was sunny and 85 here when I ran today, TraumaRN. Maybe a little too warm, but it's better than freezing. 6 trail miles done with my son.

Props to you for being out there in those conditions.
For chaffing issues, there's body glide. Vasoline may also be helpful.

 also to Scorch and Drteming for the strong races. Way to haul.

+10 last night.
