7.5 on some hills yesterday and an 8.5 mile fartlek today. 16 total. Good workout allies! Definitely good times on a snowy surface!

Well, my wife is recovering from her surgery, I may be able to get some running in as early as tomorrow.

ps - the month of January is cursed in my family. we're going to hide all of Jan. 2011.

9 miles on the hilly road route near my house. It's not as much fun as our trail route, but it was a run and it felt good.

Hope your wife has a speedy recovery Mega! Give her my regards and well wishes!

I did an easy 5 today. Crazy to think that I'm only running 5 miles 4 times this week and still going to hit 50+ miles. Gotta love long runs!

Saturday we are doing a "long run", a whole 12 miles. With my wife out of commission that's as much time as I can steal away. But with the 50 miler just 6 months out I need to get my ass in gear.

Oh and she said "thanks Matt".

5 miles yesterday and 11 miles today with a 5K in the middle in 17:25. Finally beat a 50-year-old dude who is running the same series who has whomped me the first 2 races.

Adam and I did a 12 mile trail run today. It was warm (40+) and sunny with 6 inches of slushy snow on the ground. My legs took a pounding but it was great. The ramp up has begun.

7 miles today, .5 up, 6 at pace, .5 down.

Bike/running path finally cleared up after a week of being icy. 36F felt balmy compared to the single digits I was running in earlier this week. Hit 5:52, 5:46, 5:55, 5:58, 6:03, 5:56 for my paced miles. Obviously felt pretty good to have proper footing again 🙂

This post is really going to be off topic, but something has really psyched me up. As some of you all know, I am going to be doing a 50 mile trail race in July and another in October. Today a runner at RW forums offer to pace me in the Finger Lakes 50s 2010. This is totally cool, but it also puts some pressure on me to make sure I'm 100% ready to kick ass in that race. Maybe it'll pressure my son to persevere and finish this one.

Is this your first post in this thread ElFenix? If so, welcome!

Was your run a race or for the fun of it?

i think i've made a post or 3

houston aramco half marathon, me and 22,000 of my closest friends running around at the crack of dawn.

made my goal, didn't walk any except for the bridge right at the beginning where everyone bunches together and its hardly possible to run/jog

Went to the gym Friday and Saturday as well to do cardio, ankle was bugging me too much to do any running then though so I had to stick to the elliptical machine. Heal faster!

Hey Mega, that's awesome! Definitely gotta make sure you're ready then! ElFenix: well done! Ain't halves fun? 🙂

I did 16 with my friend T today. She's fast so we kept a good pace (7:10s average) and it was cool because I've never really ran with her before; we've warmed up and cooled down at races together but never just went out for a long run. Definitely a good run.

ElFenix - congrats on the half!
Mega - now you've got more motivation to be ready for that 50 miler!

49 miles for me this week, including a good 17-miler this morning.

Also want to send a shout-out to Eric Gillis, who was the top Canadian at the Houston Marathon in his marathon debut, finishing 8th in a ridiculous 2:13:52. I remember racing against him (well, trailing him by a lot 😛) in university cross-country - he is truly a beast.

gillis probably went right by me on the marathon circuit once it caught back up to the half circuit today.

only 1 person had been below 2:10 on that course ever prior to today, and about 6 guys did it today. perfect weather, started in the low 40s and got up to the mid 50s.

on a sad note one of my marathoner friends said he saw a guy's ticker go at about mile 21 and the EMTs pounding on his chest to get him revived, but no go. 🙁
