Just a hunch. SIS is scrapping their 0.13 graphics chip production completely. Can this be related to Nvidia and TSMC chip production problems and delays? Digitimes

I dont know what Nvidia`s mission is these days. Either they are honest and say they have messed up their release plan in competition to ATI (and tell us e.g. they will have something real up their sleeve either now or in a few months), or they will lose the confidence in all their high-end card...

I bought a new lg 40x burner, and, like the at shop i bought it from, they said the days of plextor being the best burner is over. I have never had one wrong burn, and its extremely fast. In my eyes, there is not one single wrong thing to point out. I bought it retail for around 80us$ in Norway...

I tested out my friends dimension 4550 (P4 2.4, G4 4200 w dell 30.82 drivers, 512 mb RAM) in 3dmark, and with default 1024x768 settings, i got around 10500 3dmarks. With my oc system (P4 2.4@2.61 Abit IT7, 512 mb Crucial 6ns @390 (3:4) G4 4600 320/725 41.03 drivers), i get 13962.

6 months ago i set up a small workgroup and got a Lexmark Optra T520 network printer for it ( at pricewatch you can get it at around 570 US incl. shipping). Since i set it up there, there has not been one single problem, + they have heavy printing needs because it is a refugee asylum office...

Lost two. Same thing. Rebooted, and the disk was just grinding on boot.

KyroII has entered the market, and is getting Nnvidia scared as hell. Maybe keeping things secret will catch Nvidia by surprise so that they cant prepare anti-3dfx propaganda regarding the new chip as they did with the Kyro and that anti-Kyro document we saw a while back.

If that is true, there is no doubt at all what i will buy. I am still clinging on to a V3 3000, but its becoming abit boring since i am missing out on so much eyecandy in the newer games. It runs all the games smooth, but i know that Giants or B&W with a GF3 is a completely different story...

Thanks for the reply. But the ACPI hit commands to the cpu dont make the CPU stay at 100% activity when nothing is active. Does ACPI help alot in reducing CPU heat at all, or could these progs be used in addition?

By the way, you were probably using glide with the voodoo5. And when using glide, the v5 just rips.

I would upgrade the processor first of all. I started out with a Voodoo3 3000 on a celeron 466. Now i have a P3@945 mhz, and the difference is like night and day. You will see the voodoo3 perform on another level with a good processor. I have buildt systems with both AMD and Intel processors...

I used to live in Zimbabwe (country next to S.A), and the modem standard there was the same as the one i used here in Norway in the modem days. Apart from the power being 220 volts not 110 volts, i do not think there is any difference at all. I had several modems back then, US robotics etc etc...

Maybe one of the heatsinks on the v5 is not seated properly on the chip. Since the other v5 works, it cant really have anything to do with software. I would take off the heatsinks, and put on some thermal epoxy. Not the horrible styff that is there from before.
