I've had 4 of the 75GXP models fail on me, 2 where in RAID-0, then thought maybe it was the drives that couldn't handle the RAID-0 so when i go its replacements back from IBM i just used them as a single Master and Slave drive on my Promise ATA-100 controller, 3 months later both burned out about the same time, i looked at the serial numbers and they were both off the same line next to each other. Have not called IBM yet to replace them

I'm using a 15 gig 75gxp for os, 60 gig for data and 75 gig for backup...all three doing great. Some of the best drives I've used up till now.

2 30GIG of these IBM drives have broken on me. Both within a few weeks of purchase. I'm running on the 3rd and it has lasted for about 4 months now and seems to be doing fine. I know I'm not buying an IBM HD next time...

It sure would be interesting if you modified the poll to include which of the failed 75GXP drives were produced in Hungary, and which were from the Phillipines. I've heard it's the ones from Hungary w/ the problem, I've used one from the Phillipines for quite some time w/ no problem. Just curious to see the results..

Yes these reports are scaring me because I have 2 of them in raid 0.

They are 45gb ones.

Does anyone know how many percent of them are failing?
