I was usually getting 99 fps using opengl in counter-strike with voodoo 5 PCI now I only get about 85 tops using GeForce 2 ultra OEM!
I am not sure if it is running in 32 bit color! Does anyone know what could be wrong? Plz help me out! This shouldnt happen since this card is like 3 times faster than voodoo 5 5500 PCI

UPDATE: Ok I have disabled vsinc and now I get 99 fps but when I play and there is lots of things going on it drops down to 50 which still never happened with voodoo 5. I dont know how is this possible.

Question #2: Do you guys know how to increase birightness in opengl games. I have increased the brightness in Half-life but the game still looks really dark. This was easily done in voodooo drivers but I dont see this option with geforce! Thanks in advance!

Question #1: That was what I was going to say. By the way, how is it an upadte, if you did not even edit post? Did you magically figure it out at that instant you posted? ;)

Question #2: Most games have a brightness option (CS, UT, etc.), but there is a color correction in GeForce Properties. Try that.

What drivers are you using for the Ultra? Have you tried overclocking it with PowerStrip or some program like that?

He shouldn't need to overclock to get better performance out of it than a V5.

Could you possibly have FSAA of some sort enabled that you didn't with the V5?

The color correction tab is basically hidden in the options (with detonator 7 and higher), it took me a while to find it. Go in controlpannel>display>parameter>advanced, then go in twin view tab, (yes twin view.. I know it sounds strange but the color correction option option is hidden there) Down this page, you have the bouton "outpout device" then go color correction and you can adjust your brithness

By the way, you were probably using glide with the voodoo5. And when using glide, the v5 just rips.

Counter-Strike doesn't have a Glide option. It's OpenGL or Direct3D only.
