    You might get more ram. I had 256 megs and had the same problem. Upped my ram to 512 megs and D2 stutter went away. Think the game was using about 320 megs max.

    How much memory is your explorer.exe taking up (Win2k)?

    Explorer seems to have a memory leak in it when I look at alot of files ( about 80K files ) in one directory and then shut down explorer. I've seen it get as high as 43Meg before I killed it off.

    Well uwantasumwang, the problem was that my VCR is old enough not to have RCA jacks in it. Got the RF modulator though and it seems to do the job nicely. Thanks all.

    Nope Erub, it's S video to coaxial cable (just like the cable company uses). Guess I could buy a new TV, but want to wait a couple months when my bonus comes in. Thanks Chuff, I will call tomorrow and ask them about one.

    Look for any 3dfx and glide files on your hard drive and delete them.

    Are you sure you got rid of all the 3dfx driver files ? I had a similar problem when I first installed the card.

    Seems to have been fixed under the last Everquest patch. Using Win2000 and the beta drivers from ATI.

    Complete Removal of 3dfx Drivers

    I deleted all glide files from windows/system32 and did a search for all 3dfx files and deleted them from the C drive.
