Ok heres the problem. I got my new ATI 32MB DDR. Installed base drivers from the cd. Tried out a few games. Everquest, Baldurs Gate II, Diablo II, etc. Everything works and looks great. Except I have a crash in Everquest. Not sure if it was releated too EQ or Ati or what. So I decide to install the newest official drivers from Ati. Well go to run Everquest and now it goes out of sync every time I launch it. Figure maybe its these drivers so I go and download the official beta drivers from Ati. Once again the monitor goes out of sync when I try to launch it. Anyone had or know how to fix this problem? I dont think its the video card as other games are running fine.
Now for my views of what I have seen. The 2d is outstanding. I mean I actually notice quite a difference in 2d between it and my Voodoo III which had really good 2D to start with. The 3D looks great. 32bit is not all what the Nividiots tried convincing me that it was but it is a small but noticeable improvement. DVD playback is everything that people claim it too be on the Ati. Not sure if thats a good thing as I now notice the pores in peoples faces. Its really that sharp. Drivers are extremly well layed out and very easy to setup and use. I really like ATI's taskbar control. Got everything you need built into one single click.
If anyone can help with the EQ problem please let me know. I did a uninstall of my 3dfx drivers and set the video back to Standard VGA before installing the Ati. I have considered a format but I have ALOT of stuff to back up and would prefer to procrastinate at least another few days.
Thanks for help.
Hmm after looking down below I need to update my system specs too.
