S Video to Coaxial Converter

I had this same problem. My tv only has coaxial, but my dvd player has s-video and rca...

I called up Radio Shack and got a RF Modulator. It was about thirty bucks. Good Luck.

s-video to coaxial (RCA??) ? I got one from 3dfx, just sent them an email and received it within a week. Very efficient of them, for free too

Nope Erub, it's S video to coaxial cable (just like the cable company uses). Guess I could buy a new TV, but want to wait a couple months when my bonus comes in. Thanks Chuff, I will call tomorrow and ask them about one.

I asked the local HiFi store about this and they said, "yeah for about $300, its not a direct conversion"

A RF modulator will convert composite video (i.e., RCA connector) to coaxial. I haven't seen any that will convert S-video to RF-modulated coax.

before you buy a rf modulator for $30 go to the store and get a cheap vcr for $50-100... and if you already have a vcr.. run your dvd through that... thats what i am doing...

Well uwantasumwang, the problem was that my VCR is old enough not to have RCA jacks in it. Got the RF modulator though and it seems to do the job nicely. Thanks all.

I bought a s-video to coax converter at radio shack. just a couple of bucks
but I was never able to get my laptop to display on my tv. 🙁

maybe I'll finally get off me duff and figure it out

You can always call up creative labs or guillemot and pretend that your s-video to coaxial cable from your video card is busted and they'll send you a free one 🙂

Well you can get S-Video to Composite (RCA) with a converter from a video card, and then composite to Coax with an RF Modulator.
