well optical cables arent super cheap, i mean i already paid $10 for this one. i dont see why one would be different than another? although your right, its unlikely both are defective, i just dont know for sure how easily its suppose to insert, isnt it suppose to click into place....like a usb...

i always keep my games, pretty much regardless. on rare occasion i'll fire up one of my old ones, even if at the time i didnt think much of it. never know, at some point the games might become very rare and hard to find. for instance, i have 2 games that are old and difficult to find anymore...

well, depends on how good/poor my PC would look with VGA. i dont know. i also dont know how component would look with PS3 or if composit or s-video would be better then on top of that i dont know what resolution composite..etc goes up to..i want full 1080p resolution from my PS3 i havnt done...
