If it is based on A14, the earliest launch date would be Q3-2029. Three years after Zen6 CCD2029? No way.

So 32C/64T on DT assuming 2x CCD.Up to 16C per CCD
I doubt A14 will be ready for mass market before that

What is so weird about Sep 2029? Zen 6 launches in H2 2026 with the major portion of SKUs launching in 2027. Add the standard period of the 2 year core IP development cycle and you got 2029.2029? No way.
Do we know that for sure?Just to remind you, Zen 5 desktop launched in Aug 2024. It's successor is very probably targeting something like Jul-Nov 2026. Also keep in mind Zen 6 IP is just a refresh of Zen 5 unlike Zen 7.
Typical AMD arch cycleDo we know that for sure?
I mean, Zen7 being quite different.
Check the names of the team members who worked on each archno that's not how this works they work on alternate design
Zen6 is already in A0 silicon . . .What is so weird about Sep 2029?
OK, so we do not know but this is reasonable expectation.Typical AMD arch cycle
Team-1 — zen 1 & 2
Team-2 — zen 3 & 4
Team 1 — zen 5 & 6
Team 2 — zen 7? & 8?
Zen 3 team should be back with zen 7 is the expectation
They showed that 2nm Venice wafer back then. So yea, they should have fist samples for hyperscalers by now.Zen6 is already in A0 silicon . . .
We have no idea how long those ES samples have been in possession of the cloud hosts testing them. Even if they arrived basically today, that'd be more than two and a half years until launch for Zen7. If TSMC A14 is going to take that long to enter production so be it, at least that makes sense. But otherwise it's a very long time!It seems it takes between 3-6 months between samples being spotted in shipping manifests and launch. Did I miss one of those?
No, that's exactly how this works.no that's not how this works they work on alternate design

AFAIK A14 is 2028 with 1H or 2H for HVM but that's more "offical", I mean I can see A14 ramp up in 1H of 2028 for Zen 7 Epyc and Desktop & Laptop shortly as it seems AMD will be the first customer for it.We have no idea how long those ES samples have been in possession of the cloud hosts testing them. Grimlock point 2 (krackan replacement) would be ideal for steam deck 2 (assuming it doesn't have the NPU tax of msft)I think Grimlock Point will use RDNA 5 GPU architecture but Grimlock Halo will use RDNA 6 for 2029 assuming that's when RDNA 6 comes out.
I think Steamdeck V2 will be something similar or use Medusa Mini Halo/Premium, AT4 sounds perfect for it and able to come out in 2027 (c'mon Valve, do that and nothing older tech-wise). Zen 7 nodes being used sound WAY to expensive if Valve wants to price aggressively.Grimlock point 2 (krackan replacement) would be ideal for steam deck 2 (assuming it doesn't have the NPU tax of msft)
Verano is just a Zen 6 EPYC with a different IOD compared to Venice's. Just like Zen 3 Trento was.According to MLID, Zen7 EPYC is codenamed "Steamboat" which should be launching in 2029. Then what is Verano EPYC CPU which is launching in 2027 ? AMD only claims it is next gen AI Rack: isn't it refer to new generation of EPYC...Hmm, we should know more in 3 days. Just something to think about over the weekend.
Italian city are the external codenames for EPYC, internal codenames are different. Zen5 was Breithorn, Zen6 is WeisshornSoundwave - Alpha Trion (AT3 & AT4) - Grimlock
All characters from Transformers franchise. SO, what exactly does CPU and GPU transformation into?
Hints: RDNA4.5 - RDNA5 - LPDDR6
