kind of.that is succeeded by medusa point 1 right ?
As a baseline MDS1 is a KRK1 replacement, -hi config just extends the CPU lead.
kind of.that is succeeded by medusa point 1 right ?
Nope.
Consoles have poverty CPUs.
Client stuff can't go with poverty CPUs anymore.
Yeah, it was the RNR config with 4M L3 per CCX and GDDR6 memory latency.Zen 2 is (was) poverty?
Jaguar was a very competent core for the era tho.You want to talk about poverty talk about Jaguar.
?
It's the Ryzen 9 MDS1.
It's not a very expensive platform (this ain't Qualcomm PMIC spam) and it's the R9 option.Adding an CCD to an already very expensive platform isn't going to make OEMs happy.
Please stop talking like you understand how PC OEMs work.isn't going to make OEMs happy.
No one forces you to pay more. You just can.

Says who.And that's exactly the problem. OEMs won't pay.
AMD whatWhat do you think AMD Rubin gaming laptops will use? Hawk? Strix?
We're talking CPUs here.Latency isn't important for graphics.
Meds.Aren't you the one who said all that matters is 1T? 1T performance was crap. Do you have to try to disagree with everyone?
Says who.
It's a normal R9 option. This time it just comes with a real CPU perf upgrade. Kind of the whole point.
AMD what
We're talking CPUs here.
Zen2 is a skinny core with no way to hide memory latency. 4M L3 makes the issue worse.
Meds.
Yeah.Consoles are literally for gaming
Yeah, that's why they're getting Zen6.You literally just days ago said that the only thing that matters was 1T.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's why they're getting Zen6.
Does not make their CPU/cache configs any less poverty.
Is reading hard for you? It's a solvable problem you know.
you don't need more cores. just faster ones.
It was *poverty*, which, again, if you need help reading, ask your relatives or idk.You say Zen 2 sucked
Yeah congrats on repeating my statement.Zen 2 was the best thing available back then. With cut cache to save money

To me it seems like the most interesting part of the lineup actually. Balanced CPU and GPU, probably close in performance to the best selling laptops out there with a dgpu (rtx 4050-4060 range), plus no stupid VRAM segmentation/planned obsolescence.medusa premium (mini halo) is for whom actually ?
those are not mutually exclusive. You again call it poverty but then agree it was the best thing available back then.

If you want the best CPU performance it's not the right choice, if you want to have the best GPU you won't buy an APU anyway, but most people don't want or can't get any of those.
Hopefully they improved the inter-core latency that plagues Strix Point as well.
Well it costs Actual Real Money.my ideal steam machine hardware
Gabebox is cheap. AT4 APUs are Very Not Cheap.valve is cooked once this releases in 2028
gabecube is 8gb vram tho. only for the desperately poorsGabebox is cheap. AT4 APUs are Very Not Cheap.
Goodnuff for 1080p.gabecube is 8gb vram tho.
Consoles are for mainstream SPPs.only for the desperately poors
No PMIC again? It's not a very expensive platform (this ain't Qualcomm PMIC spam) and it's the R9 option.
No one forces you to pay more. You just can.
Eyyyy they're kind of pricey and OEMs would happily foresake low teens %% BL for lower platform costs. No PMIC again?
Booo.
I know, it’s just that from the end users' perspective having competent low power behaviour locked behind WoA sucks the big felota.Eyyyy they're kind of pricey and OEMs would happily foresake low teens %% BL for lower platform costs.
