Oh, so max 8C on DT for Zen7. Previously you said 32C.Then lowering it back to 8c for Zen7.
1t rules.

Idk core count hardly matters above like 6c.Oh, so max 8C on DT for Zen7. Previously you said 32C.
Then why is AMD releasing 9950X3D2, which provides X3D cache for 16C/32T mainly useful for gaming?Idk core count hardly matters above like 6c.
Will be above 8c once 10th gen consoles ship and give gamedevs 2 more cores to play around with.
What you want is 1t.
Good news, you're getting it!
There's gotta be a sucker that buys it.Then why is AMD releasing 9950X3D2
Or you’re wrong about it’s usefulness and thus implicitly the use of up to 16C/32T. Does not make sense for AMD to release it unless X3D2 is going to perform better than X3D.There's gotta be a sucker that buys it.
Worthless part otherwise.
Some suckers gonna buy it for phat margin.Does not make sense for AMD to release it unless X3D2 is going to perform better than X3D.
It makes sense if the margins make sense. Stop making it out that companies short term plans never ever change. Adroc is bullish, sure, but the consensus is that dual X3D won't make that much difference, BUT AMD are probably looking at the market and seeing people still pay through nose for GPUs, and now RAM.Or you’re wrong about it’s usefulness and thus implicitly the use of up to 16C/32T. At least you’re admitting 9950X3D2 will happen now. You denied it like forever.
They are going to buy it to get the best gaming perf in current and perhaps even more important future games. Some suckers gonna buy it for phat margin.
It would also be good for y-cruncher if you're into calculating pi.
It doesn't do video games better than 9850X3D.They are going to buy it to get the best gaming perf in current and perhaps even more important future games.
He said 9950X3D2 would not happen. He was wrong. End of story. It makes sense if the margins make sense. Stop making it out that companies short term plans never ever change. Why wouldn't they release a part that doesn't really make sense, but priced at $999, means margins are excellent, their internals now say people will buy it, and their 2 years of packaging expertise means it's less risk now...
9950X3D2 is a signal of where the future of gaming is heading. It doesn't do video games better than 9850X3D.
Games just don't need more cores.
They need more 1t.
It's an SKU for suckers.9950X3D2 is a signal of where the future of gaming is heading.
They are going to buy it to get the best gaming perf in current and perhaps even more important future games.
two shrinks are two shrinks, man.Zen6 12 core with V-Cache will thoroughly outclass 9950x3d2 with 16 cores - in gaming and many other tasks.
So. 1t performance is the most important thing still, more tasks rely on that than mtNo. Absolutely not. We left the 1 core era about 2 decades ago.
Juangra??Problem is we’ve hit a (soft) wall w.r.t. frequency and IPC increase.
Which is why everyone is going for increasing core count instead, and SW will adapt to make use of that.
Meh, it shouldn't happen. When it inevitably isn't important for, well, anything really, I wonder if the people like you clamoring for it will be disappointedHe said 9950X3D2 would not happen. He was wrong. End of story.
There was no disclaimer about if this or that mentioned. He simply said it would not happen.
No. Absolutely not. We left the 1 core era about 2 decades ago.
No, mainstream laptops (and pretty much everything non-DTR class) quite literally are glorified javascript crunchers, where single-threaded performance is king.No. And especially not for mainstream / general laptops.
Just. Stop.He said 9950X3D2 would not happen. He was wrong. End of story.
There was no disclaimer about if this or that mentioned. He simply said it would not happen.
Absolutely, it's a pointless product but if they make money from some, so be it. This poster will be first in line to crow if it doesn't add much to performance though and will tout it as an AMD fail, it's so predictableJust. Stop.
He's big headed sure. But it's obvious that AMD weren't considering offering 3DX2. Adroc doesn't, and doesn't claim to, have knowledge of AMDs internal margins and defect rates. Sure, he speaks in absolutes, but anyone smart can see that AMD must be feeling this is just a way to wring some more money out of enthusiasts, while their process is mature and there's zero competition from Intel. A business decision has changed, and recently. You need to get over it. You're as bad as he is with your definites, and you add even less to the conversation than he does.
Stop.
Because AMD's competition keeps dropping the ball.People say this about every release. They have yet to fall behind.
Zen 7GHz confirmed?no, that's for Zen7.
Zen6 is a mix of IPC and fmax both.
Ideally we'll get 35% 1t via 15% IPC and 20% fmax.
