Sure, but you have to compare it with current Ryzen 7000 prices. I have no doubt many will do that and be disappointed when considering the (apparently) rather small performance increase.
Meh. They can wait for prices to drop just like they did with every other Ryzen gen. A repeat of last gens launch MSRP pricing with street prices coming down over time should be the expectation. I'd like to see lower launch prices, but I don't expect it.

Slow day. So now theres that "leak" of a "retailer" posting up 9600X $295 pricing. I have this feeling AMD is going to disappoint on launch pricing even though all the stars are aligned for them to make a real statement. If what we end up with is $299, $399, $549, and $649, thats going to be a huge disappointment, IMO.
9600X - $229
9700X - $299
9800X3D - $349-$379**
9900X - $399
9950X - $499
9950X3D - $599**

** my guesses where they will slot in

Edit: Clarified pricing info

That's... stupid. Like... utterly stupid.

If that was reality, (eg) Zen4 would start at 100, and drop to 70 by the time Zen5 is out; Zen5 starts at 70 and drops to 50 by the time Zen6 is out; Zen6 should come out at 50 and drop to 20... Zen7 given away for free after 6 months?

That's not how any of this has worked for the last... ever! A new product resets MSRP, old stock is now limited shelf life, get one of you're savvy and lucky, but some people will pay for the latest.

At least AMD gives you the option to only have to pay for the CPU (if you had Zen4). Intel used to reset MSRP, but force you to buy a new main board and probably new RAM, for 3-5% gain.

Did you complain then?

Delete this

But this are prices for best-buy? You need to add around 10% margin to them RIGHT?
So the Real prices are:
9600x - 249$
9700x- 329$
9900x~449$
9950x- 549$
Best Buy has sold CPU's at launch MSRP for Zen 3 and Zen 4. No reason for me to think they're pricing differently this time.
