Which could very well mean "170w TDP" could mean a 200w PPT limit this time aroundThat's indeed what it draws.
Seems thermally-limited which is kinda funny.
And who's to say AMD didnt change their "TDP formula" for this release ?

Remember TDP for cpus is a made up number
AMD Ryzen TDP Explained: Deep-Dive on TDP Definitions & What Cooler Manufacturers Think | GamersNexus
stub Thermal Design Power, or TDP, is a term used by AMD and Intel to refer in an extremely broad sense to the rate at which a CPU cooler must dissipate heat from the chip to allow it to perform as advertised. Sort of. Depending on the specific formula and product, this number often ends up a...gamersnexus.net
That’s like 10% higher than the results we’ll be seeing on the 31st.Yeah, also the leaked numbers from the AMD event were 42k stock and 44k PBO. No way this ES does 46k. Something is off.
I was talking about some people who argue and post this screenshot as proof for "who knows what" or simply to mislead "normies" and then the "normies" or people who dont have time to follow this take this 41.9k pts number as real "stock" and ITS clearly not.Not that it matters much, but in the ES 200w PPT screenshot you can see the cpu running ~5.1ghz @ ~1.080v
*edit*
Didnt hassan post on X about a 9950X using 19x watt a while ?
Think i saw it earlier today but cant find now

Yeah.890M with its four extra CU cores should beat that 3050 then. At 40W of course. That's really quite impressive.
Strange conclusion..View attachment 103269
water temperature below 10c for sure.

How about virtually infinite ! My 7950x's run 100% load 24/7 and have done so since I got them the day Zen 4 was available for purchase. at stock on air.Ryzen 3000+
What kind of air cooler do you run? I was just told by a few geniuses that you cant use an air cooler on a 7950X at full 230W PPT.@igor_kavinski
The 230W, 253W, and Unlimited PPT runs are all effectively the same (peak PPT observed never exceeds 230W). The scores decrease slightly as I continue to increase from 230W to unlimited. This is because my small room is heating up from testing and the air cooler definitely hits the 95C throttle point during the runs at 230W and above.

Core temperature can’t lower than ambient temperature. All ways higher. You can see at 40w load core temperature still 21c, but yours is 38c.Strange conclusion..
This is my noctua air cooled 7950x i have in my living room.
L3 idle temp is pretty much the room temperature even with silent air cooler

And while i'm at it, a r23 MT run

Now we need a 5950X in on this actionQuickly created this (apologize for the lame colors).
HINT: Keep your eyes on the dark blue bar.

No offense to 5950X owners but that's so ancient nowNow we need a 5950X in on this action
Not yet. Soon!Hey @igor_kavinski , have you managed to get some R24 (ST and MT) numbers from the 9950X ES user? Sorry if I missed it in this thread.
Found a old highly-tuned 5950x screenshot in my benchmark folder 🤣
(unlimited PPT)
