Intel.
It's not about the timing it's about the PDK you've picked. If Intel isn't getting any N3 stuff from TSMC until next year it will be N3E.
That's ok, they're used to this by now I'd say...While my initial response was similar to @Doug S ', if what you're saying is true, Intel is so screwed.
N3b is a fine node sans costs.Intel is so screwed.

Who said they won't?And if TSMC isn't going to produce any N3B wafers once N3E comes online
IT IS.Which wouldn't be much of an issue
Hmm, so do you think Apple will maintain two different process nodes in parallel in the future? Let N3B handles high end SoC (A18 Pro & M3 series?) and N3E handles mainstream SoC ???Who said they won't?
IT IS.
AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.
SET. OF PDKs.
The two nodes have nothing in common.
No they'll get off N3b asap.Let N3B handles high end SoC (A18 Pro & M3 series?) and N3E handles mainstream SoC ???
Keeping this on topic, is there any reason to think AMD would have used N3/N3B for anything? I imagine they would have to cancel it or port it to N3E, causing delays.
They cancelled/backported all their original N3B designs to N4P.Keeping this on topic, is there any reason to think AMD would have used N3/N3B for anything? I imagine they would have to cancel it or port it to N3E, causing delays.

Turin-D CCD? yea.Then Zen 5c is on N3E?
No they'll get off N3b asap.
Will they? Why is it fine for Apple to switch to N3E in the middle of the A17's run
Apple operates like a galley full of slaves (well, most left by now), Intel doesn't.but you seem to believe that's unthinkable for Intel?
So basically Apple could do it since they operate on unreasonable schedules 24/7?Will they?

Yes.So basically Apple could do it since they operate on unreasonable schedules 24/7?

Kinda.Doesn't Intel have like five different design teams?
Oh hell no, Intel has a ton more designs in flight. They would have way more bandwidth to do this than Apple
It's not silly, you go to Apple to ritualistically sacrifice your friends and family for a fat paycheck.your silly claim about galley slaves notwithstanding.
Sounds good, hook me up I'm drowning in poverty here 😂It's not silly, you go to Apple to ritualistically sacrifice your friends and family for a fat paycheck.
