Yet another Right Wing Olympic Rage Thread - Transgender (or not) edition

While I have little interest in this due to it firstly being the Olympics and secondly it not involving the US. The little I have heard it she is not an XY but a generic woman with ovaries that behave more like testicles as in she produces (far?) more testosterone than a typical woman.

Again I have little interest in this matter I can easily be wrong.
I do have to wonder if that should bar her from competing.

I tend to agree that anyone who is any good at a sport should be barred from competing in it. Then I might stand a chance.

I've said it before, but I still think the whole row is just a reflection of the reality that the whole basis of competitive sport is incoherent and arbitrary in the first place. You're never going to make it completely "fair" because none of it really makes sense when it comes down to it.

Do you think the only reason that someone like Usain Bolt can run as fast as he does is because he trains harder than everyone else, or do you think he might have some genetic advantages that other people don't have? How about Katie Ledecky? Or maybe Aaron Judge? Maybe if I just spent more time in the batting cage I could be in the majors setting home run records.
I agree, really it’s there should be a line and I have no idea what that line is. Good thing to talk about. Bad thing to be a shit head about.

I
Should Michael Phelps have been banned for having a freakish lung capacity combined with long arms? Should basketball players over 6’2 be banned because their height is an unfair advantage?

The notion of arbitrary genetic advantages in sport being “illegal” is just bonkers.
That’s the point it’s a tough line to establish and that line will move based on the competition.
Basically my point is if a competitor becomes dangerous to their opponent it’s time to have a talk about what is expected.

Side note:
I know a trans woman she is against people competing in sports where they have a clear advantage from birth. She has bickered with other trans women she knows (on Facebook) that all trans women alter their voices at some point and that relates to someone competing where there is fame or a prize worth substantial money more or less they should “act” like women. Essentially it’s not fair to women as a group to compete in something you know you have a huge advantage at.

Genetic advantages don’t necessarily equate to a better result. Otherwise Manute Bol would be one of the greatest basketball players in history

And this is an interesting thing to bring up. However as I said earlier I have little interest in the Olympic Games

To your point about it being dangerous there are risks inherent in any sport and especially combat sports like boxing. Maybe a better approach would be creating one or more additional classes if the overall size and power of competitors is increasing.

A clear advantage from birth is literally any genetic mutation confers an advantage pretty impossible to police or we would end up with very boring competitions.

That's _very_ specific to boxing, though. Maybe martial arts as well? That's why they have weight classes, and why they are supposed to be careful about not having seriously mismatched contests.

Not a fan of boxing as a 'sport', precisely because it seems to entail some degree of physical trauma and injury as part of its intrinsic nature.

But GOD said there ain't but 2 genders! God is perfect and his design is perfect.

Honestly anyone who believes "intelligent design" needs their fucking head examined, there is way too much variability in the real world for "intelligent design".

Intelligent design would have us pissing and skeeting out of the same tube. It would also have our eating, breathing, and threat of easy suffocation determined by a wee flap of temperamental tissue.

This is entirely false, and I'm not sure what it has to do with anything.

I was trying to understand how the (false) claim that all trans women do voice training relates to sports.
She is a complicated very intelligent woman. Confused me too, when I asked her about that she said something like we all fake some stuff like the voice at some time there is precedent to faking other behaviors. This was years ago so my word likely are off. Point was because a person fakes one thing doesn’t mean they still aren’t what they want to be.

She has a vagina you dumb fuck. I've had to listen to you bigots obsess over genitals for years, and now you're interested in the nuance of chromosomes and hormone levels?

I already thought about the nuances, and I think the only reason needed for barring DSDs and trans is to make it more similar to the overall fairness between men.

I think the eventual right wing goal isn't that but to actually ban all women's sports all together and force them back into the house.. just like the eventual goal wasn't roe dismantling as much as a national ban.

They don't want to ban all women's sports, they still like volleyball and stuff.

Don't you consider it odd that all the information we are basing all these conclusions on a test run by a organization (IBA) that has been removed from overseeing boxing because of corruption and ties to Russia? A test that nobody outside of the IBA has ever been able to verify from what I know. Even weirder that this organization(IBA) is now sending Angela Carini $50k for helping to start all of this? It is almost like someone in Russia decided that they could use Carini to start a boxing controversy and discredit the Olympics, Russia had been banned from. Of course the usual international Russian supporters stepped right up to make sure that as much chaos as possible ensued while two Olympians who were born woman are being slandered all because they don't look feminine enough. All the while in Russia they are having Vodka toasts to the chaos they caused while only spending $50k.

I do consider it odd. The info I’ve seen so far has pointed to Russia starting a rumor, and it taking hold over the usual suspects.
