no but i can assure you the article is authetic. I used my college library reference to look up the article and sure enough its there.

if you can log into the "academic search premier" database at your schools library or whatever the ISSN is 0099-9660 and the accession number is 14955202. the source is wall street journal - eastern edition; 11/8/2004. vol. 244 issue 91, pA1, 0p, 2 graphs, 1bw. and its an article if you truely don't beleive us there's the source you can go to your local library and research it.

unlike everyone here i actually liked best buy. I didn't buy stuff i thought was expensive just stuff that is the same price everywher else. After reading this though it makes sense plus the person who posted "do not shop at Best buy".

i can tell you that because i got proof to back up the article and the printed article this will spread like wild fire around here.

Also...they have a lot of 3rd party partner/vendors in the store now driving business out.

I originally walked in to buy Tivo and walked out realizing that I can get the same thing from Cox now for only $6.00 more per month. Works for me...

It's funny when people expect stores like this to know anything about their products. The most you could expect is for some employee to BS you. Think for a sec...they're hiring teens in high school and maybe 30 year old guys with dead end careers. They don't ever get to try the products. They have no incentive to read reviews. To hire knowledgeable people would completely drive prices up. Yet, people still walk into these stores asking the sales people for advice...like they're going to know something. This completely amazes me...

Well im not sure if it's quite that many people, but people come into stores to steal stuff which should be part of that, people come in to rant to other customers about how bestbuy sucks, and people come in expecting them to sell them goods undercost to pricematch compusa's 30 mir's on a computer. If a customer is losing a company money why should they want them?

I agree on the 3rd party vendors. I was looking at printers a year ago and wanted a nice HP all-in-one. Well they had a guy from cannon there and he started harrasing me about HP. he claimed since i had a Cannon digital camera the cannon printer would work way better then the HP. he claimed it would print out the pictures in better clarity. pfft.

But on the Tivo you are kind of wrong. While i agree why get a Tivo when you can get a DVR from the cable company (i got a nice dual turner from dish network) it does lack some of the features that the Tivo has. While the Tivo is better i do not think it is worth buying when you can get it free.

heh bet he didn't mention the thing canon's are actually good for.. dead cheap generic ink lol

The only reason that I go to BB is to check out new stuff that they have, fiddle with it, then go to some cheaper place to get it. Seriously, their pricing sucks hardcore. People that usually buy things there are so clueless about prices it's amazing. The last time that I bought something there was because it was a emergency. I needed a new video card pronto and paid out the arse for a crappy Geforce4 440MX or whatever the name is.
