Found all of it in a small hardware store that is a broadband customer of mine. Got all of that for $200 cash. Cleaned them out though too.

You didn't save a single box for the next guy?

Some of those backorders from January just paid off; I have another 7000 rounds of 7.62x39 inbound.

And this, my friends, is the reason for the ammo shortage. Everyone buys all they can whenever they see it.

I bought at a low almost three years ago, and I bought a lot!

One of my co-worker friends asked a few weeks ago if I had some .308, and I agreed to sell him 15 boxes (300rnds) of PMC and Winchester for $190.

On the other hand, I had a random 1000rnds of boxed American Eagle .223 in a metal ammo can sitting in my closet; paid $300 shipped for it in 2011. Sold it locally for $700 cash in March. 😱

I am very low on 9mm, but I'll occupy myself with .22, .223, 7.62 x 39, and .308 until that becomes reasonable.

Pew pew.

I did not pay full retail or those, only $10 per brick for the federal champion and $9 a box for the mini mags. $200 for everything, since I did some work for that store working on their network. Might as well get it all at those prices.

Shortage is still in full swing here in TX. Haven't been able to find anything locally what-so-ever.

Anybody that's been picking up all the .22 ammo want to sell me a box of Federal bulk?

I know the feeling. The only place I can find .22 ammo is at the local Wal Mart, but only if I'm really lucky.

Reloading hobbies are destroyed for as long as anyone can guess. I can't imagine stock becoming available again. Even if things improve, some drooling retard will go on a shooting spree and then you can really forget it.

lol what? Youve been able ot find powder, primers, and bullets this whole time if you look and are patient...just like plain ammo.

Local place that was doing 2 box limit allowed me to get 6 of the 5.56 the other day at $8.99 a box brass non-reload. Not to bad.

Academy has a bunch of calibers in stock today. Lots of stuff like .454 Casull, .357 Magnum, .38 SPL, .32 LC, .45 LC, .45 ACP, and a bunch of hunting rifle calibers (.307 win, .17 HMR, that kind of stuff). Tons of .22lr, but very little .223/5.56 and no 9mm, though. I should have bought some .45 ACP even though I don't have one yet.

I did pick up 2 more ProMag magazines from my p95 for $25/ea.

Gunbot, slickguns, eBay etc are a double edge sword.

You can catch deals once in a while but mostly prices settle and it helps vendors with unspoken price colluding. "Hmm I was going to list for 50 cents a round but I see everyone else doing 70 so ill do 70 too".

Defeats the point when every listing is the same price.

I haven't gone shooting since I was 12 but I did buy my first gun over the weekend. Hi-point 9mm Carbine. It is the classic 995 model but I've order the tactical stock conversion kit and some other accessories.

My question: Any firm recommendations on which 9x19 9mm ammo to start with? I started looking at Gunbot was a bit overwhelmed by all the different types ammo of the same caliber.

I'm thinking about the Federal FMJ 115gr:

edit..wrong link

Plus when people see a semi-decent price of like 65-68 cents a round, the shelf cleaners sweep in and clean them out panic buying then they relist it for 75-95 cents a round on armslist or craigslist.

Just saw 9mm at Walmart for $14 a box, about two dozen boxes. I keep looking there for the Tula 308 for my PTR91. With steel cases and roller delayed blowback, no worries about sticking cases and extraction problems or destroying good brass.

Yup. There is no ammo shortage. Its just on gunbroker instead of walmart.

65-68 cents is ass. I won't do more than (and these are high but ok for now):

50 cents M855 5.56 green tip
50 cents 7.62x51/308
30 cents 7.62x39
5 cents plated 22LR

50-60 cents rd for handguns buys me premium self defense ammo like Federal HST.

50 for 556 is pretty bad still but when you're talking 2 more twenty dollar bills for a 420 rd can over normal its bearable when people are snatching them up at $300+ a can
