Haven't been single in almost seven years, but I'm guessing that would be "whacking off to porn" amirite? :p

- M4H

I never 'whacked off to porn' or 'whacked off' period, so I wouldn't know. I was referring more to just not getting anything at all, but I realize my lifestyle is not the same as everyone else's, so I guess that's a possibility.

75% of women masturbate.
90% of men masturbate.
And the rest LIE.

- M4H

Na, I never have either. Made it 24 years until marriage. Honestly, it never even crossed my mind. It wasn't until I started hearing about it in every other movie that I even knew about it.

It's probbaly paid off. As it is, all those sensations are exclusively encompasses by my relationship with my wife.

That should be that "EVERYONE" wants to be in control of everything. Humans seem to have a tendancy or desire to try to dominate anything. I guess it provides a sense of security to be able to have control over things.

complete, total, and utter SHENS SHENS SHENS. what, do you think it will make you go blind, that baby jesus will cry? Why would you deny yourself an extremely natural, and necessary human need?

This thread has taken on new meaning...

I don't agree with it. I find it rather sad that someone can't control their bodily urges.

As for it being a sin, I think it is. However, my opinion of masturbation came about long before my religious ideals, so I see that being irrelevant.

No idea what you're talking about. Never heard of it.

You are aware that masturbation was built into human genetics, right? It lowers stress, improves the immune system, can reduce headaches, and even helps reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. It's a miracle drug in the palm of your hand.

I am aware of what the benefits are. I am also aware of the side-effects. Subtract the prostate cancer from that list and you have a list of benefits for drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and several other items that I would consider less than good for you. I'm sure your response would be something along the lines of "well, the side-effects of masturbation, if they exist, aren't even in the same realm at those items". While that is true, that doesn't mean there are none.

As I said before, I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me. I'm only sharing my opinion. However, anyone who doesn't learn to control their sexual desires and actually encourages the idea that such are not meant to be controlled has no cause for complaint against anyone who has ever misused sex, such as child molesters and sexual predators. Again, you may think the side-effects are drastically different, but tell me, how many sexual predators do you know that don't masturbate? Besides, this thread wouldn't even be in existence if someone wasn't humiliated by masturbation. Why would they be humiliated if there are no side-effects?

But hey, whatever works for you. Enjoy the saltpeter.

 Um, okay. Same to you?

There is at least one person in this thread that has some bottled up "emotion" that they need to "release." Let it go, you'll feel better.

hoooooooold on there. never?

That's correct. Never. Oh, there was once I had to for medical reasons. If you wish to count that, feel free. Epididymitis sucks.

There you go. and where do you think the Epididymitis came from? think about a car, and what happens when you leave it in the grage for years and years. Stroking the chicken is a medicle necessity. Any religion that tells you otherwise is absolutely, and totally evil.

maybe if you did what is actually a natural thing you wouldn't have gotten epididymitis....

My sex live at that time is my business only, but I will say that there was no need for masturbation at the time I contracted epididymitis.
you have the urge to urinate and deficate, heck you have the urge to have sex and act on it so i don't see why the urge to masturbate is all that different.

but i won't try to change your mind. you have been taught or have concluded it is sinful whereas i have found it healthy for the mind, body, and spirit.

exactly.

and yeah, dude, you did have a need for masturbation when you developed epididymitis. that need was to not develop epididimytis.

IMO, it's the constant bashing-over-the-head mentality we have here that this is wrong and immoral, whatever it is, that leads to confusion in people. Plus, when you let these confused, potentially violent people have guns to boot....uh oh! *slowly backs out of thread*

So what, if we allow and encourage porn that will solve all the problems? I would dare say that sexual education has a much larger role in that than anything else. I think most religious "fundies" do go way overboard with their approach to sex. I would never portray sex as an evil thing, and I actually agree that I think that is a huge problem. Sex is a wonderful thing. But just because it's a wonderful thing doesn't mean it shouldn't have it's limits.

At the end of the day, what you do in your bedroom is up to you and is not one else's business. You want to masturbate 5 times a day, feel free. Just don't whine and complain if others don't share you opinion.

 *You'll shot your eye out! You'll shoot your eye out!* That's funny.

I've already answered this once, but I'll say it again. Something being natural does not mean that it is automatically right or good. I think my post on this is about 5 or 6 up from where you posted this comment.

This thread has taken on new meaning...

They always do, don't they? I think the average is about 35 post before the new topics begin.

Yes, but I only have sex with someone that I'm legally and lawfully married to.

However, it's also only natural to want to eat what taste good, sleep when you're tired, hate someone who has wronged you, seek revenge, do what feels good, etc.. Simply because it's natural doesn't make it right.

but i won't try to change your mind. you have been taught or have concluded it is sinful whereas i have found it healthy for the mind, body, and spirit.

I respect you for that. I'm not trying to change anyone either, just to share an opinion as the OP requested. Again though, it being a sin has nothing to do with my original view on the matter. Please don't assume or insinuate that I came to such a conclusion as a result of religion. That would be a flat out lie.

fair enough. you are one of the few ultra religious people on here that I've come to respect...despite learning of your mormonism :(

As I said, I had an active sex life at the time. And as any doctor will tell you, that had nothing to do with it.

Being dedicated to his religious convictions or not, he's still changing tons of sticky sheets. That must be fun. Especially when he stays over at a friend's/relative's.

I totally agree with that. Good post

to clear a few things up: M4H mentioned saltpeter (gun powder) b/c the army notoriously added this to mess hall food. Saltpeter is known to inhibit an erection. The reasoning being that doing so would help prevent any "unnatural urges." you know, the ones that occur when a bunch of dudes are cooked up together for long periods of time.

The make you go blind thing refers to Catholics (Italians especially, if Fellini is to be believed) telling their children that masturbation will make them go blind in an effort to deter them. Also, priests would take dark circles under your eyes as an indication that you've been masturbating (I guess lack of sleep = all-night whackfest 100% of the time?)
I feel sorry for the little kids that were just chronically constipated (one of the symptoms being dark circles), and told repeatedly that they were sinning.
