What?? Where in the world do you get that idea? So many men cheat on their wife because their wife isn't what a porn star portrays a wife to be. Men see these women doing all this crap and then get upset thinking, "hey, my wife should be just like that. that's what sex should be like". It's all an illusion and I know this is just my opinion, but I will never find it anything but destructive.

I think (obviously it depends on the couple) that it's best used to calm our natural instincts to want a bunch of different women without cheating.

What gives, why so much of a discrepancy? It's something I never quite understood.

pr0n is cheating.

LOL! Thank goodness my fiancee doesn't mind me watching it occasionally by myself or with her. It really gets her in the mood. But the money shots always make her turn her head a little bit and she'll say "you're never doing that to me... that's so degrading". LOL. She doesn't look at it as cheating at all... who would? C'mon its a fantasy world.

From what I've seen, I agree with the point of view that it's mainly insecure women who are against pornography.

Haven't been single in almost seven years, but I'm guessing that would be "whacking off to porn" amirite? :p

I never 'whacked off to porn' or 'whacked off' period, so I wouldn't know. I was referring more to just not getting anything at all, but I realize my lifestyle is not the same as everyone else's, so I guess that's a possibility.

I wouldn't say that's not a possibility, because I'm sure it is. But just from my experience, I've never seen that happen. If anything, is just says if my wife isn't like that, then maybe those other women I'm interested in are.

Again, this is JMO. Everyone else's experiences may be different.

fap fap fap, what's that sound I hear? Its the single ATOTers going at it..

When I'm single there's much more of a need. And what about if you are in a LD relationship, where you see the person once a month, or even less? Pron is about the only thing that can prevent you from going really crazy, and even that isn't good enough.

Should my girlfriend feel insecure if she finds my porn collection where all the chicks with breasts the size of basketballs? Should I feel insecure if I find her porn stash where all the dudes have dicks the size of rolling pins?

No. Because porn is exploitation cinema whose only redeeming quality is shock value. Nothing more, nothing less - it's just a quick fix for the pervert inside you. Kinda like how those Faces of Death videos or gory horror movies are a quick fix for the sadist inside you. Every one watches a little porn...as long as it isn't a vital part of your lifestyle (read addiction), I don't see the problem.

That's correct. Never. Oh, there was once I had to for medical reasons. If you wish to count that, feel free. Epididymitis sucks.

you think masturbating is a sin or something?

maybe if you did what is actually a natural thing you wouldn't have gotten epididymitis....

Different girls, different reasons. I've read some of the activist chicks claim that pr0n encourages bondage, rape, and cheating... Basically, it's the scapegoat for many women that think people weren't bad until they saw pr0n.

It just goes to show that everyone has their own views and no one can change them. Pr0n only helps get the job done faster. Guys would still think about stuff even if they didn't have the media in whatever form.

I don't agree with it. I find it rather sad that someone can't control their bodily urges.

As for it being a sin, I think it is. However, my opinion of masturbation came about long before my religious ideals, so I see that being irrelevant.

My sex live at that time is my business only, but I will say that there was no need for masturbation at the time I contracted epididymitis.

you have the urge to urinate and deficate, heck you have the urge to have sex and act on it so i don't see why the urge to masturbate is all that different.

but i won't try to change your mind. you have been taught or have concluded it is sinful whereas i have found it healthy for the mind, body, and spirit.

Looks like we've got us a member of the Opal Ring Crusade here.

You are aware that masturbation was built into human genetics, right? It lowers stress, improves the immune system, can reduce headaches, and even helps reduce the risk of prostate cancer in men. It's a miracle drug in the palm of your hand.

But hey, whatever works for you. Enjoy the saltpeter.

If you think real life is anything like what you see in a porn flick, you need serious help. And if you understand that it isn't, then what's the point? You have an SO or a hand, and an imagination, use it.

I know! It's like, why would anyone go to a comedy club or watch a SciFi movie? They can tell their own jokes and make laser sounds with their mouths! Pew-pew!

Ban entertainment!

(<-- Not a pornography watcher.)

Bad argument. I can't immerese myself in a sci fi flick and making pew-pew sounds with my mouth is not the same thing as comparing the act of sex to watching a porn flick.

I guess if you never really had a good lay, then I suppose that would be the case and I could see where you are coming from.

I have a LOT of porn, my wife doesn't care. My buddies wife would kill him if she caught him with porn, he can't even admit infront of her if another girl is pretty. She won't let him go to bars with me because she's worried that he'll look at other girls. She is very insecure, my wife is not.

Dead on here.

BTW, if you come across a woman who is not VERY insecure with her body send her my way. I have only encountered one such creature in all my experiences. :(

Yes, but I only have sex with someone that I'm legally and lawfully married to.

However, it's also only natural to want to eat what taste good, sleep when you're tired, hate someone who has wronged you, seek revenge, do what feels good, etc.. Simply because it's natural doesn't make it right.

but i won't try to change your mind. you have been taught or have concluded it is sinful whereas i have found it healthy for the mind, body, and spirit.

I respect you for that. I'm not trying to change anyone either, just to share an opinion as the OP requested. Again though, it being a sin has nothing to do with my original view on the matter. Please don't assume or insinuate that I came to such a conclusion as a result of religion. That would be a flat out lie.

Societal bias. Here we view it as bad, and it's (typically) drilled into our minds from our first (caught) encounter with it, that it's bad. That, and there's also the undertone in our society that women who are interested in sex are "slutty" and thus that kind of action carries a negative connotation. With sufficient exposure to this kind of teaching, and also a lack of being taught skepticism and critically analyzing authority, one will come to truly believe it, and the thing, pornography in this case and the negative view of it, become ingrained into the person's way of thinking.

So, you'd ask, "What do you think of porn?" No thought occurs - the word "porn" is heard, and immediately, from all the conditioning, invokes a negative reaction: "Porn is evil! Porn kills! Hitler liked porn so much he started killing people! Einstein looked at porn and the next day he built the atom bomb!"

a lot of porn does project a pretty sad portrayal of women, but it's still a good thing. Explain to me why sex/abuse crimes are much higher in our country (where the fundies try to make us think that porn, inappropriate sexual displays, sex education, or whatever, are evil and lead to these crimes) than they are in Europe (near non-existent), where the attituded towards sex, porn, exposing kids to sex education, is far more relaxed.

IMO, it's the constant bashing-over-the-head mentality we have here that this is wrong and immoral, whatever it is, that leads to confusion in people. Plus, when you let these confused, potentially violent people have guns to boot....uh oh! *slowly backs out of thread*

Explain to me who has sex readily available. I hope you don't mean someone who is married, or has been married for more than 3 years... ;)
