RSX has better exterior design, IMO BUT the insurance rates on RSX are Brutal. I'm 26 and i used to try and get a quote from Liberty mutual for an '05 RSX-S and they quoted me roughly $1000/yr full coverage. i don't know if the fact that it's not type-s you're looking for is going to drop the price by much but it is already expensive as it is. So i'm going with rx-8 and i'm getting like $685/yr full coverage. The TC quoted by Liberty was $600 something/yr.

What are you on? If you live in Ma, that would be cheap. Anyways, that's because the RSX os both a luxury car and a sporty car.

Oh, not a fan of the ol Scion Tc. We bought one early last August had some major problems due to the first year kinks, totally assured over and over again that they would all be taken care of. Dealerships, yes plural have NO clue what they are doing, yes even the Scion authorized ones ( we won't talk about promise that ANY Toyota dealer could fix it). When we contacted Scion corporate it took months for it to be resolved. So here we are a year later hoping to get all things finally fixed by the corporate appointed place. We are knee deep in now, he drove 20000 miles this year but jeez; we would never recommend the brand, any of the three dealers in the area or Scion Corp as a whole.

1st year model. you're a ginuea pig. goes with any brand but i am surprised since this is coming from toyota.

Well, the tC does exist as the Avensis overseas I believe in MY2003, so it's not exactly first year.
But it is not a 100% clone, so there are differences.
Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that Scion is at the bottom of JD Powers and the tC does have its fair share of owner-reported problems.

Just a  to anyone who assumes just because it was spawned from Toyota and therefore must mean top-notch reliability... especially for choosing a budget/value brand over an established brand with consistently proven reliability such as Infiniti.

So, are you still at UCSB? haha

John,

I am not sure what you are implying. Here. Feel free to PM me because I am really curious. I am living in Santa Barbara, yes. That is the city name. Unless you refer to all cities by their local colleges. In which case, are you at UCSD?

Dude, stop with the BS already.
Hmmm...deciding from a tC and TSX and then jump to a G35 coupe....yeah right.
Update this thread when you actually buy a G35...until then stop with the nonsense.

I realize that it is hard for some people to believe and I don't fault you for it. I was looking at the Tc and the RSX before I ever got my father involved because this is technically my 2nd car. The first was a '99 Ram 1500 bought for me back in '99 with expectation that I would be driving then. Well I didn't, I didn't even get my license till this year. Not because I couldn't but because I really didn't feel like driving. Now that truck has been his daily driver since then so it's got 112K miles on it. As such he feels I didn't get full use of it and that I should have a 2nd one. Don't get me wrong, I have the truck right now and I love it to death expect A) It's hard to park around town and B) It's a super gas hog(I get about 240miles from a 26gal tank). My other brother's got their "dream" cars a few years ago and now it's time for mine. I'm 22 and yes I realize that it would have been much sweeter had i bought it myself and hopefully one day I will be able to do so. Btw CTrain- What would you like the sign to say?

Make it the following:

"CTrain I really am spoiled" sign on top of your local newspaper showing the date.

You've just opened yourself up to ridicule if anything happens to that car.

You lucky devil!

Go for it...get the G35 coupe.

You'll love it. Just don't drive reckless like those young funk I see in the freeway. Cutting left and right cuz they drive a nice and fast car. 🙂

Stop the nonsense, will ya ??
I'll believe it when we all actually get to see the car.

Thats like someone from the ghetto on the way to McDonalds and then suddenly decide to eat lobster and steak instead.
Geezzz, I'm deciding between 2 $17K cars but now suddenly, I'm going to get a $34K car......yeah right.

I thought this thread was dead, anyway...

Went to the dealer over the weekend but they wouldn't play ball. It was either $36K with their financier or $36.8K with ours. They really just dicked us around for 3hrs so we walked, sales manager even chased us down as we were driving off. Guy called today to say they were sorry and we could have it our way but we're not going back to them. Right now I've gone back to looking at different options. At this point CTrain is pulling out his shovel for all the BS he thinks he's reading. It's all true whether anyone believes it or not. To fan the fire I'm also looking at M3s/Corvettes now. I really just need to get a job. Regardless of whether I end up with a Fiesta or a DB9 as soon as I get the car the rents stop paying for food and gas.

I promise I will post pics in this thread and it's own thread whenever I get a car. If I end up with a Scion you can throw all this crap back in my face. If I end up with a G35 or better you can call me a spoiled bastard. Either way most of you won't like me if you even do now.

Your parents bought you a G35? Holy crap.
You are so spoiled. A Scion is an OK car for some brat living with his parents. Not a G35.
Heck, I have a masters in engineering and I need a new truck badly, but I can't afford it. I'm stuck with my 1993 Dodge Dakota that turned over 190,000 miles today.
