that's not "just a little more"

I realize that but that's not how my dad thinks. Even when he was talking to the salesman and the guy said that options would tag around $4K more onto the price to which my dad replied "When spending this kinda money what's four grand if you are gonna get what you really want."

As for scion and reliability, I told him till I was blue in the face that the thing was basically a Toyota and that it wasn't gonna break but he's too damn stubborn.

Lame to get a sporty car with an automatic tranny. Will probably lower the resale value as well...

Yes I'm getting an auto, my mom may borrow it from time to time for weekend trips to the beach and neither I nor her can drive a stick. Here, take my man card. Ass for resell, who cares. This car won't be sold. None of the cars in the family has ever been resold. We drive them into the ground. Astro: 200K+ miles, Ram: 112K+ miles, Denali: 86K+ miles and it's only 3 years old.

nice ride though how much of that do you have to pay yourself

I pay for gas...after I get a job and maintenance after the warranty is up but that's it. Parents are talking care of the car, insurance, and any repairs not covered by the warranty or insurance.

Man I hope so. Between the car and this condo if I don't get laid there is no hope. :(

Dude, it takes like 2 hours to learn stick. It'll be cheaper, better gas mileage, doesn't break down as much, better performance... better in every way, except maybe driving in traffic, where auto tranny is convenient. Take the time and do it right, don't be a puss.

Your mom should learn to drive stick too, you never know when you're going to need to drive someone else's car in an emergency. If you can't drive stick and that's all that's available, you're SOL.

Well, first off, get a stick.
second,
tc cost about 16k, while rsx at about 20k.
the residual value would be higher on the rsx, i suppose , since it's an acura.

Third,
I would only consider TC when it is equipped with supercharger, right now,
wat i think, the rsx has better interior and nicer functions. While on the other hand
TC's interior wasnt so good imho, but the sunroof was pretty sweet.

and blah, didn't read the part that u going to get a g35, daymn you!@$
and coupe for lift brother , don't go for the 4 doors, thats a death trap!

Didnt view the Toyota as quality so bought a Nissan?

Your dad must be making pretty good money for an idiot. Toyota is at the TOP of the list of most reliable cars, least problems per new vehicle.

EDIT: Well if you told him it was really a Toyota. I guess there isnt a point in arguing much with him over getting a G35 I would take one over a tC as well.

i thinkt he scion is a MUCH better looking car and it is what i am going to be buying within the coming months however the acura is a better (higher class?) car all around though pricey and ugly as sin in my option (especially the rear end)

Dude, stop with the BS already.
Hmmm...deciding from a tC and TSX and then jump to a G35 coupe....yeah right.
Update this thread when you actually buy a G35...until then stop with the nonsense.

I realize that it is hard for some people to believe and I don't fault you for it. I was looking at the Tc and the RSX before I ever got my father involved because this is technically my 2nd car. The first was a '99 Ram 1500 bought for me back in '99 with expectation that I would be driving then. Well I didn't, I didn't even get my license till this year. Not because I couldn't but because I really didn't feel like driving. Now that truck has been his daily driver since then so it's got 112K miles on it. As such he feels I didn't get full use of it and that I should have a 2nd one. Don't get me wrong, I have the truck right now and I love it to death expect A) It's hard to park around town and B) It's a super gas hog(I get about 240miles from a 26gal tank). My other brother's got their "dream" cars a few years ago and now it's time for mine. I'm 22 and yes I realize that it would have been much sweeter had i bought it myself and hopefully one day I will be able to do so. Btw CTrain- What would you like the sign to say?

So what's your auto insurance premium? I hear stories about people not getting their license as early as possible but don't insurance companies rate your premiums based on the years of experience driving in the US?

the scion would probably be more reliable than the infiniti. cheers to gullible, ignorant parents and their spoiled children.

gotta love the part about your parents already buying you one brand new vehicle and you not ever driving it because you didn't feel like learning to drive.

eh....

i call shens on this whole story. you're either an idiot trying to show off or you're a troll looking to piss people off. either way, STFU already.

Oh, not a fan of the ol Scion Tc. We bought one early last August had some major problems due to the first year kinks, totally assured over and over again that they would all be taken care of. Dealerships, yes plural have NO clue what they are doing, yes even the Scion authorized ones ( we won't talk about promise that ANY Toyota dealer could fix it). When we contacted Scion corporate it took months for it to be resolved. So here we are a year later hoping to get all things finally fixed by the corporate appointed place. We are knee deep in now, he drove 20000 miles this year but jeez; we would never recommend the brand, any of the three dealers in the area or Scion Corp as a whole.

Gotta love people who automatically assume the Scion is more reliable than the Infiniti when JD Powers shows Scion at the bottom and the Infiniti consistently at the top.
Lets not forgot the tC is still relatively new while the G35 is a 3+ year old design.

hmmm...you od realize that when you buy something like an Acura RSX or an Infiniti G35 you will be charged on your premium not only as a sports coupe, but also a luxury car. Your 22, have no experience driving....that is gonna be one huge preumium.
