The MSI card on Dell site is back again, I'd suggest ordering that as back up, since it's $220 shipped + taxed for me.

i feel a screwin' brewin'... I sent a second email being more explicit that i want THEM to confirm THEIR promotion...

Thank you for contacting PayPal. We apologize for the delay in
responding to your service request.

Eric, Dell has ended the promotion from their site. However, if it was
still being offered on the site when you made your purchase, it should
be honored.

The cash back payment will be deposited into your PayPal account by
January 31, 2008.

Thank you for being a valuable member of the PayPal community.

I was afraid something like this would happen, I emailed Paypal, if they do not give me a guarantee that i will get my $50 cash back i will just cancel my order. When did exactly DELL and PAYPAL remove the promotion from their websites?

I sent an email to this extent as well, they better honor what was there yesterday.

The one thing that is really scaring me is the Paypal transaction status. Since Dell hasn't technically "billed" me for this, the transaction shows pending. What happens when the order goes through? Will it still show as yesterday since thats when I placed the order - or will they argue that the transaction didn't go through until, lets say, next week and say the promotion was over then.

BS

I got the exact same formed response from paypal. Funny thing is, I contacted Dell last night and ask them what items qualified for the promotion and when the promotion ended, all they responded with was - "you have to contact Paypal for that information."

I give up, I'm tired of the run-around. I'm very dubious as to whether or not most of these orders are going to ship before 12/11 anyway. Good luck guys.

I don't understand the FUD? If you had bothered to read the terms and conditions, you would have saved yourself some needless grief:

2. Eligible Purchase: You must use your PayPal account to make purchases on participating merchant websites by selecting PayPal as a payment option during the offer period, except for exclusions at stated in Section 7 below. Multiple purchases are allowed. Payments at Overstock.com must each be for at least $100 USD (including shipping and taxes) to qualify. In the event that you made a purchase and the merchant has not billed you for it, the purchase amount must be charged to your account no later than January 10, 2008 to qualify (and you must still make the purchase within the offer period).

guys, this is no use, I phoned paypal and the rep just told me that Dell is the one deciding who gets this. She said I should talk to Dell, when I phoned Dell they said the exact opposite, and told me I can only be assured of the $50 if paypal can vouch for it. So I am getting the feeling they are getting ready to screw a lot of people and pushing the blame away. This is looking shakier by the day. This is just terrible business practices!

Did you ask for a supervisor at either location? My bet is that these reps haven't got clue until one of them takes the initiative to ask some one up the chain who knows the answers.

Once someone gets some answers, please post them here. Like the others who have posted, i've gotten no help at all from either company. What should I do, sit back and hope? I don't think so, this seems like such a scam - if my order ships 12/11 like its supposed to and I don't see my $50 in paypal until Jan 31st (and I have no doubt if I DO get it, it will be the last possible minute) by which time it will be too late to return the card.

To hell with it. I cancelled my Dell PayPal orders and went back to the MSI 8800GT OC card that I ordered in the first place. Can't get answers from either place. A big ole crock of shit! :Q

Ordered one from Dell. Let's see how long it takes to get it. Didn't see any indication that it was in or out of stock.

No didn't ask for the supervisor since the rep all seem like "honest" people ... right, but I figure even a sup who thinks you gonna get it can't guarantee you definitely will either.

The payment doesn't complete until it ships.

Really? I ordered it and my credit card was charged 2 hours later. Estimated ship date is Dec. 13. Does that mean they've already shipped it?!?! :Q I ordered it through that EPP link. Does EPP give priority over home buyers?
