Your linky still no work.

It works for me? I even cleared my cache to make sure it wasn't pulling it from there. Maybe you need to clear cache and cookies?

Try this search link:

Thanks! The search link works.

Does anyone know how long before I get the $50 in Paypal?

Ext. Ship date 12/11/2007

FatWallet Cash Back 3% for Dell brought the total price just under $200.00! The bad news we have to wait 2 weeks for it to ship but the good news is if a better deal surfaces before the PayPal promotions ends is we can cancel the order and get the better deal. :D

Worked for me @ 1:00 P.M. CST $200 shipped/after PP promo.

PAYPAL had this kind of promo about a year ago. I used it to buy a DVD burner (expensive then) at newegg. Paypal did refund my money that was a part of this deal. It worked!

Now, I have 2 GT on order, the first one for $220 from yesterday. Second one, for $250 - $50 Paypal Promo = $200 from today. I guess I'll cancel the first one.

Hope this will work. Thanks OP.

what if they decide to cancel the offer... will they do that?

Haha seriously.. Can my wallet get any thinner?

Oh by the way, when I logged into my cart at www.dell.com and added the XFX card, the MSI card was STILL IN MY CART at $207.99. Total with tax was $221. I used the Paypal checkout on it and with the 20% back that should be another $44 off, making my total $177 shipped. Anybody else have the MSI card in their cart still?

I figured the MSI would be worth it over the XFX, because I don't care about the lifetime warranty and it is 660MHz core vs. the standard 600MHz on the XFX. Any thoughts on this?

I'm pretty sure you can hit 660mhz on XFX just as easily. They're all the same reference design, and I seriously doubt they use different components.

Guys, I am not so sure this is going to work.

The link from the PayPal promo page to the Dell site hits a different URL than the link to the XFX card.

If I add the XFX card via the link it shows up in my cart. However, if I follow the Dell link through PayPal my cart is empty. It is almost like there are 2 carts.

I ordered a card through NewEgg with the PayPal deal (on another account) and the PayPal 20% off discount showed up in the checkout process (not as an immediate discount but just a note saying the purchase qualified). This does not occur the with Dell checkout process.

Try and order something different using the 20% Paypal link to the Dell website and see if it comes up throughout the checkout process. See if there is a link or popup window or something. Try an item that just comes up right after you click on the link.

they are the same thing, we can overclock the xfx just as well, I chose the xfx because of the lifetime warranty and able to transfer the warranty, and also becuase xfx has had better consumer quality support.

I had the same experience and decided to pass on the deal. After all, it's just 'msrp' :p It's a hot deal, but not a 'Must' deal.

I think that paypal deal you're referring to was a coupon, this is a "cash back" deal, a kind of virtual rebate of sorts. So, just like a rebate, it will not show up at any point in the Dell/Paypal checkout process, the promo page even tells you that.

Although, I too found it kind of curious as to why the xfx 8800GT does not show up when going through the paypal promo url.

I tried that. The checkout process is different when following the PayPal Dell link vs the link in this thread.

I jumped on the deal anyway. Does anyone know where you can find the MSRP on this card? Not listed anywhere as far as I can tell.

Different in what way?

While the checkout process is different, once you log into PayPal account everything's the same. I don't think there's gonna be a problem with PayPal.

Could not log off the Dell site after purchase.
Somewhere I saw that the $50 would not show up in the Dell page.
$205 for me with $20 in TX-Tax.

Right. I just tried it myself. The whole process was the same as the direct link to the XFX 8800gt, except Dells checkout GUI was different. I don't think there will be a problem w/paypal either.

I bit....

the email confirm from dell shows a price of $255.56. Hopefully Paypal credits me the $50...I didn't see anything going through checkout on the paypal site indicating I would get the $50 credit though.

Right, I was just concerned because the checkout process with NewEgg specifically showed the 20% eligibility on the PayPal site when you were paying.

Try it. Go to NewEgg... Add something to your cart and checkout. When you get to the "Review your information" page on the PayPal site you will see:

Promotion: Get 20% cash back from PayPal. See cash back terms or go to http://pp_link/holiday/terms.

When I do the same process on the Dell site I do not see that line on the "Review your information" page.

UPDATE: Looks like Dell caught on to the error. When I try to pay with PayPal from the link above I get the following error "We're sorry, PayPal is unavailable at this time. Please select another payment method." PayPal works however when going through the link on the PayPal promo site but you can't get to the 8800GT from that link.
