Much to my surprise everything worked right out of the box, though I need to do some tweaking to get rid of things I don't use. The tweak freak in me loves the sheer amount of things you can customize in XBMC.

My one question about it: How well does streaming video over a wireless internet connection work? If your XBMC is wireless, what are you using--the official Xbox wireless adapter or something else? Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm going to test my wireless connection using ICS with my laptop tonight, but obviously that's not an ideal solution.

streaming works pretty well for me so far, i have 2 routers (buffalo and wrt54g) running dd-wrt connected as a wireless bridge, so throughput is pretty decent. and it works well.

Anyone have a memory card reader they would be willing to lend me? :D I've got an 8MB Action Replay card but lost my reader in a move. I'm getting ready to softmod my Xbox but don't feel like paying $20-$30 for a new reader and software.

If you weren't in Georgia, my Pro Action Replay card + reader is sitting behind my TV and I could let you use it. Albeit I don't know why it's behind my TV stand, but it is! Soft-modding those things is awesome, but the best advice I can ever give is to not mess it up. My god, it was pure hell trying to fix a messed up soft-mod. I remember having to start the XBOX and disconnect the HDD at a certain point just to get the XBOX to unlock the hard drive (hence why you should write your code down!) so I could edit it on the PC and fix the boo-boo that I made.

Thanks for the input--I figure others would want to know this too since I couldn't find much about it on xbox-scene, oddly. That board's search function is pretty useless.

I've been running it for a month now using a wireless bridge (a Squeezebox 3 player, which is now pretty much obsolete with XBMC taking its place) and streaming's been fine. My only recommendation is NOT to mess around with the XBMC cache settings though--I FUBARed my setup by doing that and had to reload default ones. The only time I've seen any problem streaming on my network is when my PC's downloading stuff--sometimes it takes a bit of time to cache the file and actually start playing...not a big deal.

For anyone that's interested, I'm about 99% done with my Xbox to watercooled Lian Li case conversion. You can see the worklog here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=129374

I like the logitech controller inside. Do you run this with the DVD drive installed? If so how is the room. What about signal loss on the controller? Can you use the port to plug in another controller if your not using the logitech. Nice worklog by the way.

Yes, I swapped the original DVD with a PC Samsung 616t one (only a couple models of PC DVD are moddable to be used for Xbox, this is one of them).

There is no signal loss, everything works great. If I wanted to I could plug in another controller (i have 2 wireless logi's connected ATM) but would then have to worry about running the cable out of the back.
