The 3 people that weren't using google before this fiasco are probably using it now.

I hope Google doesnt cave in like the three other one's.

Not that i'm worried about what they will find but if the goverment does it once, What is stopping them from doing it again.

I hate how the U.S. tries to control the Internet for the Intire World.

Here is a good article about why google is being asked for the information.

While I don't like it, don't blame Bush's administration entirely. The law they are using was signed by Clinton.

Clinton had ultimate veto power.

And Bush and republicans could decide to not spend millions of dollars trying to get it back again, yet here they are with more actions and now court actions against google trying to force them to hand it over.

Geeze, get over clinton. He has not been in office for 5+ years now, this is now bushs and republicans baby, and they are not letting it drop.

No matter what administration was responsible for the original legislation, the Supreme Court struck the law down and gave specific instructions on how to change it to make it constitutional. The Bush (not Clinton) administration has decided to attempt to re-try the settled case instead of making the required changes to the law.

1) Wipe ass with constitution

2) Further weaken national unity

3) ????

4) Violent revolution?
that's quite extreme
Not really....... It's happened before. Not all that long ago in the scheme of things, too.

Yup, roughly 230 years ago.

On a side note, this is yet another Bush & Co. lie/diversion/coverup. Don't be fooled into thinking that this data is being used solely for kiddie pr0n. They are getting ALL of the searches that have gone through Yahoo, MSN, etc. If you think they aren't going to look through all of it, I have some Iraqi WMDs to sell you.

You cannot go through life ignoring the implications. Getting some strange while your wife is out of town overnight might seem harmless in itself, but when the woman suddenly shows up at your doorstep a few weeks later with a blue pregnancy test strip, you'll be wishing you didn't ignore the implications :D

The Gov. is asking for records made by the public(millions of people use google every day) I dont see what the problem is. All of you whining about the Gov violating privacy acts and everything probably havent taken into consideration the Corporations that easily contain data more personal much like this at the cost of a very handsome price.

They want a sample of the actual searchs NOT who is searching for what. Please get that through your cybercowboy think skull.

Worry about google and MS that know what YOU are searching for?
