/b/ scares me. some of the stuff they have done to people is amazing.

To me, a small town of ~100 people has a completely different sense of culture/societal norms.
I have some questions (choose to be anonymous where appropriate):

1) What does a town of ~100 people do for a living? If they are self-contained, then it's like everyone around is only aware of what goes on in-town and not outside.
2) How did your neighbors stumble upon your town? How does one find a job that can provide enough income for a family to move into a town like this?
3) How did you stumble upon ATOT? :p

Haha sorry, it's just sounds like a completely different mindset from where I live (SoCal)

ohh it is a diffrent mindset.

1) many are retired. we have 3 cops (county), a schoolteacher and not sure what others do. but we have a good mix of everything

2) we got the house from my wife's mother. it was in forcloseur and we were looking for something just like this. we didnt want to live in town.

3) heh i have worked in IT for years. found ATOT like in 98 and never registered until after the reset in 99

DCFS?

Dept. of Children and Family Services.

I had pretty much gathered that from the context. I was more making a point that people should explain their random acronyms.

Wow, I was to infer that from your post?

I wasn't trying to make a big deal of it. It was just a small reminder to the OP that not everyone knows his random acronyms.

It also wasn't supposed to be a thread-jack...

It's not a "random acronym", it's the name of a well-known organization. Can I start a thread about te FBI, or will you not know what that is, either?

Sounds like it's time for you and the neighbors to light the torches, grab the pitch forks, and have a midnight BBQ.

How do you know about their history in a past town without even knowing their names?

pretty much rumors. But one of the local cops (county) has said as much off the record. I didnt think to ask him there names when they were here.

you guys forget in these small towns people know each other. word spreads fast.

I'm a tad bit surprised this department doesn't have any sort of investigation for reports that are unfounded and that they aren't able to press "misuse of a public service" charges on anything that is clearly meant to upset someone or when someone tries to use it as their own personal prank service.

I get that it would probably discourage people from calling, but something as blatant as this should not go unpunished.

You need to put a big bag of gasoline-soaked poop on their porch and "neglect" to close your Zippo before it lights that bag. Don't burn your eyebrows off.

why dont you do the smart thing and make up.

eh way past that. i have tried being nice. I have went over and talked to them about driving on my property. response i got was "get the fuck off my property".

i have not done anything to them. i don't talk to them. Even when they have threatened my kids snowman and my property.

calling DCFS on me wich puts my kids in jepardy is crossing the line.

so all those other threads are lies?

are you fucking stupid? what did I DO? i asked them to STOP driving on MY property. when they refused i called the cops. Then had a survey OF MY PROPERTY.

so please show me where I have done something wrong.

you got blinders on, you obviously have done stuff, and they have as well. im not gonna take the time to point shit out when you definitely arent going to listen.

good luck.

Hey, Quit thread crapping and GTFO.

I'd think long and hard before buying a firearm at this point. You flashing a piece at them could easily be seen as you escalating these tensions - even if you merely intended it as an insurance policy against them resorting to violence. (I don't think the police would view your nearly as sympathetically if you were the first one to introduce weapons into this turf war...)

Not to mention, you really need to know how to properly use a firearm before the possible help can exceed the possible risk. (Maybe you're an expert marksman and I'm "wide of the mark" here)

I'd say stick with the lawyers and police for a while. Give the system some time.

don't know if this is already answered, but is it a requirement to tell them your name when you report child abuse, violent crime, etc.? Couldn't all this be anonymous?

That, my friend, is why its called concealed carry. Not flashing it allows you to still protect your family if anything escalates.

Problem is, buying one now could look a lot like premeditation if anything were ever to happen.

Check with the county to see if they are delinquent on their property taxes. Dirt bags of this caliber often won't pay them.

Extra sweet, 100% legal, and quite possibly profitable revenge could be yours for a reasonable price.

Yeah, sounds like dotting "i's" and crossing "t's" might not be these people's longsuit.
