Man. Your neighbors sure sound like a blast.

When are going to get around to shooting them? Probably deserved.

Sorry waggy, same thing happened to my wife and I. :| Luckily we did get it dismissed as unfounded. Eventually. It took the authorities a month to put an end to it, in the meantime we had to have our kids examined by social workers, our home was inspected (food, clothes, cleanliness, etc...), and our friends and family were questioned. It was so embarrassing.

I remember seeing a thread here where when a guy had shitty neighbors, he built a large fugly as hell rainbow colored fence right at the edge of the property. I recommend you do the same in this case.

we are planning on building a fence. we already had the survey done. come summer we will be building one on that side of the property.

Erect towers at strategic points and station archers in each one. That should get the message across.

Good idea, and some ice towers too to slow them down.

Once it is closed can you call the police and report being harassed? Surely if the cause is found to be without merit and you press charges for harassment, then the cops could get the information from DCFS?

So, you're not going to tell us then?

He had some posts about the same neighbor not too long ago. The story involved survey stakes.

nope. nothing i can do. DCFS keeps it confidential if the caller wants it kept secret.

so i can't call teh cops for harassment without proof.

though i plan on talking to everyone in town and tell them to watch it. that they will resort to such tactics if they don't like you.

Isn't there a situation where DCFS can be ordered to release this information in such slanderous cases?

It's not like they have Doctor/patient confidentiality, no?

one big positive we have. We are fighting for custody of my wife's 16 yr old sister. Doing so we have already had a DCFS come talk to us and look over the house/finances etc.

Wow, that's a pretty good situation. I would think that the word of the DCFS agent would carry more weight than that of an anonymous caller.

This also makes me

WTF is DCFS doing honoring the tip of some anonymous asshat if they already have you on file through another case? Clearly, they KNOW this is bogus, and should be able to issue the names of the slanderers. If not, then I simply can't imagine a judge not having the power to order them to release this info.

It's outright slander. It seems like you have enough proof throughout he town, and in DCFS's own freaking files that this was an absolutely false charge. Do whatever it takes to sue those bastards into poverty.

I guess the Confrontation Clause doesn't apply unless charges are filled?

they HAVE to. no matter who calls it in on who. they have to investigate every call in.

but yes i am going to do what i can. We were told when we get the paperwork it will have a part where we can push it. then get an attorney into it.

yeah, so if it what you're saying is true about already having established a file with DCSF and what not, it seems you have a good shot of starting a case against these asshats. It seems Illinois already allows for jail time and a (weak) fine for this situation.

If only you had documentation of all the other incidents. How about installing a security camera or something? maybe catch them at their most unsavory.

Later on after you research gunpowder you can upgrade your archers to, say, riflemen.

Honestly, I'd just upgrade the towers to cannon towers. Huge savings on employee benefits that you'd otherwise have to pay to your archers/riflemen and their families.

Fuck it...go all the way.

Man those towers with sharks with lasers on their heads!

Or...

Nuke them from outer space. It IS the only way to be sure.

UPDATE: just got a call from DCFS. the investigator and her boss decided to close it as unfounded. we should be getting the paperwork in a few days.

my wife is talking to her attorney. he said we can't do anything until we get that paperwork. then it will have information to push it as a harrasment claim. he will do what he can but there is only so much we can do.

Also news spread fast around town. we have had people we really don't know well stop by and tell us they will back us on anything. seems the neghbors have been causing trouble with more people then us.

I am trying to find out there names so i can do some research on them. Seems they were run out of another town about 15 miles away for pulling the same crap. just not sure where to start.

That is good news. Can I send the sharks with frigging lasers now? Or maybe just flag them as potential suckers for the Canadian mail fraud industry?

There seriously isn't a hell of a lot you're going to be able to do. Most (all?) states have anonymity rules with their child services departments, even a court order won't be able to tell you who filed it if they filed it as "anonymous".

When (if) you figure out their names, let the ATOT collective know (if that is allowed). I bet there are some good snoopers on here that can get some great dirt.

Or hell, post it on /b/ :p Anon does not forgive!
