Uhh, no. The president is not a deity, or in any way better than a normal person. Most government officials could give a sh*t about the people anymore, so why would anyone want to give their lives for a person who could care less if that person made that sacrifice.

Jeeze... As much as I dislike this current president, I think I still might. I believe in karma, and I guess I'd hope he, and his administration, might see the error of their ways, no matter how unlikely that would be...

But for THIS president? Ugh... I dunno... It'd be hard to leave my wife and newborn for the Decider...

If it was job, I'd do it, no question.

Heck no.

President as a person: I'm cynical enough to think that anyone who could become president isn't worth taking a bullet for. All them politicians are punks.

President as an Office: There's a clearly designated person who'll take over if the prez is offed, so the office won't go unfilled.

I'd like to think I've the courage to take a bullet for a loved one or truly deserving person. I hope I'm never in a position to find out.

Pretty much the same, but I don't know. If Cheney was being hunted down, I don't know if I would go out of my way to save the guy. ;) :p

If I was with SS and it was my job, without a doubt. As an ordinary citizen, I wouldn't. I don't think the president is any harder to replace than I am.

I would risk taking a bullet to save just about anyone. That's assuming I have a fighting chance to save the person and escape myself too.

It'd very much depend on the person and the situation in question. For most presidents, however, probably not.

It's been a long time since the US has had a president worth taking a bullet for, and our choices for the future don't look much better. I'm going to say No on this one.
