id drive a 99 gmc sonoma ext cab with the zq8 suspension setup. It came with 235/55/r16. if id could i would go with 17's. There people with sonoma and chevy s10 that are putting 20's and 22's on them. That way to big for this kind of truck

all depends on the rims... my bro's 19's were great, but they were too big for his car (kept hitting the car on bumps/curves)

Most pickups and SUVs come with 16" or 17" wheels genius.

BTW-Larger rims are heavier and add to the unsprung weight of a car which is the last thing you want to do to a performance car. Bling is for posers who don't know WTF they're doing behind the wheel.

Is 16 --> 17 that noticable a difference? Still debating on whether to spend 600-700 bucks on wheels.

That's really oversimplifying things IMO. You can get larger rims that are lighter than most production rims, not to mention, even if you don't, the added weight is not so much that it has any real effect. Even if you add a little weight, the added traction of the (correctly) upsized rims/tires offset that.

If you've got a higher horsepower performance car, how much of a difference do you think another 50lbs or so is going to make?

Yeah, she's barely roadworthy. Don't know how cops can get by at all!

So, you have the police package do you? What is the relevance of your link exactly? Because the police had a chase with them, they don't have soft suspension?

Are you allergic to differing opinions or something? Do you disagree a taller sidewall will flex more?

It will handle just fine with 15" wheels. Enough so, that even high speed pursuits are not a problem. Neither are curbs, speed bumps or potholes. Oh, and a ride that doesn't rattle teeth loose. What will they think of next?

So, you basically decided you know best right? You seem to have a idea set in your head about larger rims, and anyone who disagrees is obviously retarded right?

Man, must be great being so superior and all...

I don't get flat tires either. I run on 205/40/17 Fuzions.. Thing I like most about lower profile tires is my car can go around a corner at faster than 5mph without squeeling.. :p and it looks a lot better than dumb balloonish tires on a 14 or 15" rim.

The cars that actually NEED to go fast get by with stock wheels just fine, but our resident boi racers need even better handling...

Depends on the car. Most are perfect at 17" with a drop. However, some cars look awesome with 18" and a little tucking, but this is impractical :p

For winter, you put on your stock wheels with winter tires

Gas mileage will decrease because of the extra weight, but maybe by 0.00000001 :p

Here it is in bold. If FT allowed giant fonts I'd put it too for your elderly senile ass:

THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DON'T GIVE A TIN SH!T FOR PERFORMANCE, AND JUST WANT THE LOOKS.

Got that?

they "get by" fine, but the fact is, that car could easily be left in the dust by more than 50% of the cars on the road today. it's too big and sloppy... i am not sure why they still use those things to be honest.

While it's true that you do lose some early power, I really hope you don't consider 17" - 18" wheels as "bling"
