I know the theory behind fixed gear is okay; I just don't think it would be fun to drive a car with nothing but the whine of an electrical motor whose noise output is inexorably linked to its speed. Yeah, you might be able to turn fast laps with it, but the lack of both gear changes and variations in engine feedback would dull the experience for me. And frankly (this is just guessing), it seems like it would be easier to kill yourself in it. There is already a very disconnected feel with hybrids; I just can't imagine what it would be like to heighten that and then try to go around corners fast.
