Worst Live Band You Have Ever Seen?

Mine is a toss up between Offspring and Candlebox. I like(d) both bands but they were horrible live. So who were your biggest live letdowns?

Hands down, Tomahawk. They opened for Tool and boy did they suck. Maybe it was intentional, I dunno, but it was seriously painful to listen to.

definitely Radiohead. I like their albums, but when I saw them in concert, I was bored to tears. walked out 3/4 of the way through the show.

Cake is another band like that. I love their albums, but was pretty disappointed the first time I saw them live.

I saw Radiohead as well. I thought they were OK but I stayed for the show. Bought the tickets for a chick I was dating so I didn't have the walk out option.

Just went to Slipknot tonight and the first band, Unearth totally suck! Killswitch Engage was good tho, as for Slippy 🙂

Linkin Park...

Saw them open up for (Hed)p.e. and P.O.D. Before Linkin Park's first video hit MTV, and right before their album was released.

P.O.D. sucked too, but I went to see Hed.

They were acting like they were the $hit, when they totally weren't established... and they couldn't hit vocal pitch for the life of them. Obviously once the video hit they got vocal training and whatnot.

The backup vocal dude (not chester) had purple hair at the time and was trying to act all hard in the mosh pit for (Hed)p.e. but in actuality he is like 5'6" and 120 lbs. Needless to say my 6'3" 225 lb (at the time) ass knocked him to the ground when he came at me. Now he's a millionare. Fvck. lol.

2nd worst band I've seen: Snake River Conspiracy when they opened for A Perfect Circle.
3rd worst: Agnostic Front the other night opening for Hatebreed.
4th worst: Underoath opening for Coheed & Cambria
5th worst: Die Trying. I forgot who they opened for, but they wrecked the show.

And before you write me off for saying Link Park sucked hard, make a note that I've been to over 100 shows. I'm amazed I'm not deaf by now, lol.

Best show's Ive seen live:
1. Incubus - 1997 I believe... S.C.I.E.N.C.E. release tour.
2. Iron Maiden / Dio / Motorhead... Maybe I was too hammered, but the crowd was INSANE and it was the most fun I've had in the last 2 years.
3. Pantera / White Zombie / Deftones - All 3 rocked my socks off.
4. Dillinger Escape Plan - Pulled it off perfectly live
5. GWAR / Badacidtrip / Throwdown
6. Sparta / Small Brown Bike / Cave In
7. Korn / Rob Zombie / Rammstein

i have seen some unbelievably poor local bands.

the worst band i purposely went to see might be modest mouse. they have been one of my favorite bands for years and i have all their CD's but they are unbelievably boring live, and the sound was terrible to boot. i left early. actually, deftones were equally poor. i left early for that one, too.

weird. all the bands I listen to (big wu, string cheese incident, moe., phish, flecktones, etc. etc.) are way way better live than recorded. Don't know why, but I've never liked the studio version of their songs more than a well-recorded live version.

edit: worst show I've been to, girl I had gone on a few dates with led a youth group and put together a christian rock concert, i was kinda obliged to go. Horrible music. Nothing happened with the girl, either.

Probably one of the $5 grind shows I've been too. I don't even like grind.

As far as "real" concert the last "*fest" (forget the name.. whole bunch of bands) - had some really crappy bands opening. like awful.

Boston. They have a rep for being studio musicians and boy is that ever true. Musically they didn't sound bad, but they looked terrified out on stage and didn't interact with the audience at all. You might have well have shown a still photo of them on stage and just played their studio album over the PA system.

Weird, I love Offspring's albums.

Mine would have to be Creed, god did they suck.

Worst- George Thorogood and the destroyers.......I like them but it was painful seeing them live. It was way too loud (to the point of sounding like utter crap) intolerable and it was boring. The show was free but I was sober for some reason. It was probably the deafening (sp) noise poolution keeping me sober. They are better suited for siht-kicking bars when I am in the mood for siht-kicking music in siht kicking bars.

Since others mentioned their best:

Faith No more @ Gample pavillion (Angel Dust tour, iirc)
Faith no More opening for Billy Idol (The Real thing tour)
Green Day in a local club (Dookie tour)
Clash of the titans tour (Alice in chains, Slayerrrrr,Megadeth,Anthrax)
Metallica (Master of puppets and AJFA tours)
Pantera (same local club as green day)
Marilyn Manson Great shows, (both ACSS and Mechanical animals tours)
Pantera/White Zombie/Deftones (met Pantera that night...DD and VP are two cool m-f'ers)
Pearl Jam...goes without saying
Fleetwood Mac reunion was cool
I am sure there are more but most likely cant remember them
are you even reading this?
