Worst Live Band You Have Ever Seen?

Page 2 - Seeking answers? Join the AnandTech community: where nearly half-a-million members share solutions and discuss the latest tech.
Dream Theater - Lots of technical skill, but no heart/soul on stage. And, there is no need for the keyboard player to get 2-3 freakin' solos...ugh.
Rod Zombie never impressed me live (although White Zombie rocked).
Korn never impressed me.
Manson was underwhelming.
Janes Addiction

good live shows:
Pantera
Metallica
Tool
Rush
Audio Slave
NIN
MegaDeth
Type O Negative

Lethal

I've been to only a dozen or so concerts. Worst by far was Smashing Pumpkins. At the time, I liked most of their stuff. But the concert was pure noise to me.

On a side note, best ever was Rage Against The Machine, with UB40 and Sade tied for second.

There was this crappy concert I went to with a bunch of pop groups. The worst were Ashanti and Lifehouse. Ashanti's voice hurts your ears, and the lead singer in Lifehouse just mumbles.

The best bands I've seen live were probably Suicide Machines and AFI.

Mine is a toss up between Offspring and Candlebox. I like(d) both bands but they were horrible live. So who were your biggest live letdowns?

I was thinking candlebox when I entered this thread. I saw them at some rock station festival for my first concert at age 15.

train. they opened up for ben folds five once, but it was kind of awful. their "popular" song was really not so popular imo.

Hands down, Tomahawk. They opened for Tool and boy did they suck. Maybe it was intentional, I dunno, but it was seriously painful to listen to.

I saw that tour too. Tomahawk was so terrible I still vomit at random 2 years later.

I didn't really get into Godsmack live for some reason - all of their songs sound too similar and they played WAAAAAY too long.

zebrahead when they opened for 311

edit: or Twista, who played at my college in the fall, so I went for free. He did maybe 1-2 full songs, had less than a 30 minute set, and spent most of the time doing crappy covers that ended midway through with samples of gun shots

for me it's radiohead and R.E.M. while both are great bands I saw them at bad times. I saw radiohead on their last show during their concert tour and they phoned in their performance, you could tell they did not want to be there...it was the worst 50 bucks I ever spent. The next show that was equal to the radiohead show was R.E.M. I saw them at the shoreline in california and they had an agreement with a local radio station where the radiostation(KFOG) listeners could pick the songs REM plays during the concert. So all these hardcore fans picked all these obscure songs and songs of their newest album so they played alot of new stuff and obscure old stuff during their greatest hits tour...god that concert sucked, it was the first time I've been to a concert where everyone sat down during the show and the first concert that I left early to beat traffic

WORST:
Staind. by far. Went to the Rolling Rock Town Fair this year in Pennsylvania, all bands were awesome but staind

BEST:
Disturbed. amazing show! that lead singer dude has an INCREDIBLE voice
Dashboard. Yes, i know. "wtf did you go to a dash concert". Well listen up fvcktards, i like their godd4mn music. sue me.

definitely Radiohead. I like their albums, but when I saw them in concert, I was bored to tears. walked out 3/4 of the way through the show.

Cake is another band like that. I love their albums, but was pretty disappointed the first time I saw them live.

I thought Radiohead sounded really good when I saw them. That was back on their OK Computer tour, so maybe their new stuff doesn't sound good live.

The worst band I saw was Hometown Heroes when they opened for Hoobastank 2 years ago.

that's what I blame... I saw them when they were touring for either Kid A or Amnesiac. can't remember. they weren't out and out awful, but the music translated pretty badly into a live performance.

Worst- George Thorogood and the destroyers.......I like them but it was painful seeing them live. It was way too loud (to the point of sounding like utter crap) intolerable and it was boring. The show was free but I was sober for some reason. It was probably the deafening (sp) noise poolution keeping me sober. They are better suited for siht-kicking bars when I am in the mood for siht-kicking music in siht kicking bars.

Since others mentioned their best:

Faith No more @ Gample pavillion (Angel Dust tour, iirc)
Faith no More opening for Billy Idol (The Real thing tour)
Green Day in a local club (Dookie tour)
Clash of the titans tour (Alice in chains, Slayerrrrr,Megadeth,Anthrax)
Metallica (Master of puppets and AJFA tours)
Pantera (same local club as green day)
Marilyn Manson Great shows, (both ACSS and Mechanical animals tours)
Pantera/White Zombie/Deftones (met Pantera that night...DD and VP are two cool m-f'ers)
Pearl Jam...goes without saying
Fleetwood Mac reunion was cool
I am sure there are more but most likely cant remember them
are you even reading this?

man has good taste  lol greenday is like my fav band, and metallica+pantera own
