Hands down, Tomahawk. They opened for Tool and boy did they suck. Maybe it was intentional, I dunno, but it was seriously painful to listen to.

YOU SHUT UP WITH TOMAHAWK. MIKE PATTON IS A GOD

Worst- George Thorogood and the destroyers.......I like them but it was painful seeing them live. It was way too loud (to the point of sounding like utter crap) intolerable and it was boring. The show was free but I was sober for some reason. It was probably the deafening (sp) noise poolution keeping me sober. They are better suited for siht-kicking bars when I am in the mood for siht-kicking music in siht kicking bars.

Since others mentioned their best:

Faith No more @ Gample pavillion (Angel Dust tour, iirc)
Faith no More opening for Billy Idol (The Real thing tour)
Green Day in a local club (Dookie tour)
Clash of the titans tour (Alice in chains, Slayerrrrr,Megadeth,Anthrax)
Metallica (Master of puppets and AJFA tours)
Pantera (same local club as green day)
Marilyn Manson Great shows, (both ACSS and Mechanical animals tours)
Pantera/White Zombie/Deftones (met Pantera that night...DD and VP are two cool m-f'ers)
Pearl Jam...goes without saying
Fleetwood Mac reunion was cool
I am sure there are more but most likely cant remember them
are you even reading this?

I would have given my left nut to see Faith no more in concert

Best by far: Godsmack

Worst by far: Stuck Mojo

WHat tour? I hit up stuck mojo 3 times on their HVY1 tour and they kicked ass all 3 times - i wasn't even a fan for their first show.

Not sure, revielle was opening for them, it was late '02 or early '03 in chicago.

We saw revielle, and then when stuck mojo played we left, it wasnt even listenable. (The Riviera was where they played.)

Dream Theater - Lots of technical skill, but no heart/soul on stage. And, there is no need for the keyboard player to get 2-3 freakin' solos...ugh.

I actually thought DT was very good, but you are right; the guitarist and bassist both just stand there playing, and James LaBrie (the vocalist) tries too hard to look cool and interact with the crowd. These idiosyncracies are an inside joke among DT fans and we really don't care because they are absolutely flawless live. 😛

I would have to say the worst band I saw was Deftones, opening for Metallica, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit in the Summer Sanitarium tour in 2003. They were pretty lifeless and I actually think I dozed off in the middle of their set.

As for the best, without a doubt Metallica and Godsmack, whom I saw in Buffalo in October. Metallica always puts on a terrific show, but I wasn't too sure how Godsmack would be. To say I was impressed is quite an understatement. They were awesome; they even brought out another drum set and the singer and the drummer had a 10 minute drum duel. They kicked ass, and then Metallica came out and kicked even more ass.

I was going to post this exact thing. I was super pumped and they sucked so hard it even killed my buzz. WTF. Tool rocked though.

Deftones stunk it up live. So did Tommy Lee. Honorable mention for The Vines and System of a Down (all 4 times I've seen them).

Boston. They have a rep for being studio musicians and boy is that ever true. Musically they didn't sound bad, but they looked terrified out on stage and didn't interact with the audience at all. You might have well have shown a still photo of them on stage and just played their studio album over the PA system.

Haven't seen them live but I heard the same thing in regards to their live show. Straight out of the studio versions of songs.

Worst show: Everlast put one of the worst shows I've ever seen. (great recorded, horrible live)

Best shows:
A Perfect Circle
The Crystal Method
Marilyn Manson
Evanescence
White Zombie/Pantera
Muse
Korn/Linkin Park
Mindless Self Indulgence
Primus
Ben Folds Five

haha, and the list goes on.

They were awesome live...too bad they broke up. They are one of my all time favorite bands.
I met Mike Patton at the Billy Idol show while he was walking around before the show. He was really down to earth and cool as hell.

Worst show ever had to be Yes. They were simply dreadful. But the great surprise of that show was that Allan Parsons opened for them, and he was great.

Other great shows:

Rush--they never seem to have an off night
Pink Floyd -- they think big and they execute
U2 -- Elevation tour, they were the most dead-on I've ever seen them
Queen -- First show ever, and virtually impossible to top.

Yea ive seem Fantomas andMr Bungle and saw Patton on South Street but didnt go up to him cause he is a god to me. What if he was an A$$. I would lose respect for him, so better to keep my distance

Worst show ever for me was Steely Dan, won tickets from local radio station so i went....wish I hadn't.

Saw Sound Garden when I was in college in 87, they sucked, couldn't understand a single word..was just screaming. They got a lot better a couple years later.

Best Shows Ever:

Rush - Saw em 3 times...always amazing
Scorpions w/ Alice Cooper - Flat out Rocked
Ted Nugent - Kick Ass live show..he opened for Night Ranger - didn't stick around for them
Ziggy Marley - On the Pier in Seattle...was awesome
Moody Blues w/ Denver Philharmonic at Red Rocks....amazing
