Oh, ok, so because they didn't write out a 10 page report detailing the deal, you get to scam them for $50?

Let me clear this up for you, once more.

You did not buy a gamecube. You bought a gamecube bundle. You were already getting a free game. The deal did not apply to you. You were in the wrong, and still got your way, so you should stop complaining.

You must be related to the Manager.

You do not deserve customer service...

I agree. You also tried to tell your story as if you were polite and they were rude to you for no reason. From my experience, the only time customer service is rude to a customer, is if they were rude to begin with. Ive seen many times where a customer is wrong, but will refuse to believe so. Trying to explain to them they are wrong gets them even more pissed off.

The fine print of the Gamecube deal specifically excludes the Gamecube Bundle w\ Mario Sunshine so you were wrong whether you knew it or not at the time. Many people have had luck getting the bundle and free game, but you had no right to it.

No, you did not. You purchased a "Nintendo Gamcube + Mario Sunshine bundle", and the deal was on a "Nintendo Gamecube". That is why you were not supposed to get the deal.

I bought floormats for $50 bucks once and I had to cry like a baby to get them to include the car they were sitting in at the time.

Any information where this "fine print" is, or is it imaginary?

Hey Deeko, so far you're the only person here with a big mouth. So, you don't really have to talk if you don't need to

Here's what the sign says basically. THERE WAS NO SMALL TYPE ON THE SIGN, and that's all that it says

You were already getting a free game. You weren't buying a Nintendo Gamecube, you were buying a Nintendo Gamecube package. Let me clear it up for you....YOU WERE WRONG. You got $50 off that you SHOULDN'T have, and you are still here crying about it. You go into a store, yelling at people for not giving you a deal you AREN'T supposed to get, AFTER CLOSING, and you have the nerve to whine? Could they have handled it better? Sure, but tell me, if some irrational customer was totally immovable on a subject, and it was 20 minutes after closing and you wanted to go home after a long day, would YOU keep YOUR cool?

"The Customer is always right"

except for when they are wrong....like in your case...

No, I said he went too far, but in that department, its probably not their top level sales guy, its probably some underpaid little high school kid. You also are hearing the story out of lacrosseboy's mouth, you KNOW if he had said something to incite that, that he wouldn't post it here. Maybe you should ask the circuit city people and see what THEY say happened.

But you knew the bundle wasn't 149.95 MSRP... right?
No, but neither was the System
Right, so why didn't you just leave the store since they were trying to overcharge you four cents? Damn corporate greed!

How about in the name of this thread dying a quick death, I just concede that everything you think is right is right?

:p

Ok, so it said $149.95 MSRP...

how can that not be any more clear? You knew the bundle = $160 or whatever, and the sign said $149.95

and you're whining about how they charge $149.99....a whole 4 cents more and that confused you? OMG, you are a retard, no an F-tard

Seriously, quit trying to sound like you were victorious in a battle between a big company and a little person. If CC was in fact wrong, then I would say "right on, stick it to them...glad you came out with what you deserved"...but the truth is that you knew well and good that what you were trying to do wasn't what the promotion was offering. Now you are just trying to justify yourself by making this thread so you can feel all big and mighty.

You've already proven to us that you knew the price of a regular gamecube system and the details of the promotion. You just wanted to be a smart-ass and get yourself an extra game. Jackass.

Sure, heck give me the area and I'll save you the trouble and just look it up on their website.

I've said it 10 times already, maybe one more and it will sink in.

The deal was on a Nintendo Gamecube.

You purchased a Nintendo Gamecube + Mario Sunshine bundle package.

You have even conceded that it said the price of said gamecube on the sign.

The deal did not apply to you, as you were not getting a Nintendo Gamecube.

You still got the deal.

Stop complaining and be happy that you have $50 in your pocket that you shouldn't.

Were you at the Allentown store? Hey, I could drive there in under an hour and get the story too!

I don't need to feel big and mighty by posting a thread on anandtech and listening to people argue with me. If you don't like what I have to say then move along

I'm with Deeko here. This is why I will never be the type of customers that would argue or argue to PM or argue to take advantage of something because I truly feel sorry for those sales people that have to deal w/ haggling customers with an attitude problem. Look here. I know it's a different store, but they run the same deal. You buy a GameCube system, you get a free game. In that page there is no way you can get the Sunshine Bundled GameCube w/ free game. You dig? During that transaction they didn't make the profit that they should. This thread would actually make more sense as a Hot Deal YMMV thread in the other foru, but to come here to OT and moan about it is just disgusting.

Who gives a rat's ass if he inticed it or not? That isn't the point Deeko. An employee of Circuit City is simply not allowed to make comments like that. It is extremely unprofessional.

Plus, who cares if he isn't the top level sales guy, just because he is a high-school kid gives him the right to threaten (more or less) a customer. You can't be that thick-headed.

WHS- I think you were in the wrong. Technically, Circuit City doesn't have to sell you anything. It never hurts to attempt to get a killer deal, and it never hurts to speak to a manager. But after that, knowing that you are just trying to get a killer deal, you should have let it go. But that still doesn't justify the employee's comments towards you.

Deeko, he's a freakin' moron who thinks that $149.95 MSRP being sold @ $149.99 is overcharging...

God this guy needs a good kick in the nuts.
