The customer service you received was truly aweful. However, the deal you were trying to score is against the intent of the offer. You are essentially getting two games for free by buying the bundle and getting Metroid. I viewed the bundle as getting Mario Sunshine for free and a memory card for $10, which is a great deal. Sorry, but ultimately you were in the wrong here.

Ryan

ya i'd have to agree with this, cause i'm sure u knew it was for just the combo deal, and not the comb deal + metriod

ah well.

Since the tirade was pretty hard to follow, let me see if I can paraphrase. You can buy a gamecube system and get Metroid Prime for free (149.99). They also sell the Gamecube Bundle (with a different game and memory card) for $159.99. The poster wanted both the bundle and the extra free game for 159.99. From looking at the circuit city web site, it looks like he was wrong but complained them into bribing him to leave the store (IMHO).

She said "No, that's not for the Bundle, only for the Gamecube alone". I said "It doesn't say anywhere on that sign it's only for the bundle, becaues it just says Gamecube System. Also, what you're telling me doesn't make sense, because the price of the System alone is $149.99 and the sign says $149.95."

I fail to see how that doesn't make sense. I think you need to give us more details.

She said that you can't buy the bundle and get Metroid free, only the system + metroid for $149.99...what's not to understand? Are you saying one is $149.99 and the other is $149.95, a diff of 4 cents? How are they selling the GC for more than MSRP?

Here's what the sign says basically. THERE WAS NO SMALL TYPE ON THE SIGN, and that's all that it says

You were already getting a free game. You weren't buying a Nintendo Gamecube, you were buying a Nintendo Gamecube package. Let me clear it up for you....YOU WERE WRONG. You got $50 off that you SHOULDN'T have, and you are still here crying about it. You go into a store, yelling at people for not giving you a deal you AREN'T supposed to get, AFTER CLOSING, and you have the nerve to whine? Could they have handled it better? Sure, but tell me, if some irrational customer was totally immovable on a subject, and it was 20 minutes after closing and you wanted to go home after a long day, would YOU keep YOUR cool?

NO.

The customer is NOT always right.

The customer is often wrong, and no matter how much they want everything to go their way, they are NOT always right.

Get that through your head.

"The Customer is always right"

I wasn't ripping anyone off. If they would have put a SKU, or something to that nature on the sign, I would have agreed and walked out peacefully

Oh, ok, so because they didn't write out a 10 page report detailing the deal, you get to scam them for $50?

Let me clear this up for you, once more.

You did not buy a gamecube. You bought a gamecube bundle. You were already getting a free game. The deal did not apply to you. You were in the wrong, and still got your way, so you should stop complaining.

Well, since the sign didn't specify which it was, I don't believe I was wrong. It specified a "NINTENDO GAMECUBE". I purchased a "NINTENDO GAMECUBE"
