And it's not like the Boston pitching is dandy. Schilling got shelled by the Yankees, Pedro got trounced by the lowly Orioles for 8 runs (please don't bring up that absolutely ridiculous Latino argument again :roll: ), Lowe has been inconsistant at best (although he did pitch well against the Yankees, the Angels recently tore him apart), Arroyo has been even worse than him... Sox pitching got it's own issues, and that's without even touching the bullpen.
Newsflash: Curt Schilling is 4th in the AL in ERA. He's tied for second for lowest BAA at .288. He's third in the AL in WHIP, and Pedro is 4th in WHIP and 13th in ERA. Pedro is 3rd in K/9, and Schilling 4th. They are 2-3 in cumulative K's in the league (Schill's only ahead by 1). But guess what? There isn't a Yankee in the top 15 in ERA! Ok I'll give you top 20 in ERA, Vazquez at 16th. But Wakefield is 17th and Arroyo 19th. Yes,
4 Red Sox starters in the top 20 in ERA. 1 Yankee. Let's face it, Pedro has better numbers than any Yankee this year, and he's not even Boston's
best pitcher!
Pedro has only been lit up by one teamX2 this year, and that's the O's. The O's are the prime reason his ERA is higher than normal. But oh noes, he sucks what will Boston do? Call Ramon Martinez out of retirement?? Somebody get me Byung Yung Kim on the horn fast!
Boston is 13th in the league overall in pitching, which is better than half. NY, before Sunday, was 19th. Guaranteed they will soon fall to 20th unless Brown comes back fast. WTG George, you just paid 17 mil for an invalid! Fenway fans could cough on the bastich and he would get hurt. He probably shouldn't do any live chats on AOL either, he could hurt his back adjusting the lumbar support on his computer chair....
The NYY bullpen had been solid up to the Fenway visit last weekend. But like the article said, they lead the league in appearances. Torre uses them too g.dam much and it's obvious. The fact that Boston's bullpen got the job done (for the most part aside from Foulke's 1 run let up and Timlim's salami) is only good news for Boston, and they will be getting Williamson (who is lights out when healthy) off the DL. NY doesn't have anyone that's good on the DL. They are in big trouble, not to mention they have a 50 year old in the lineup (Sierra) who could get hurt at any time, as well as old man Bernie who is due for a trip to the DL.
Giambi (lol) hasn't been the same since he got laser eye surgery, and stopped pumping steroids into his gluteus maximus. Aside from the virus he caught from dirty Yankee stadium that his weakass immune system can't handle.... NY is in trouble.
Is knocking Boston's starting rotation the best you can do? I don't blame you, you didn't look at the stats, now you have seen the light.
