Sp33d, really, pipe down already. The only time we hear from you is when the Sox win, beat the Yanks or whatever. How did your star pitcher Schilling do Friday night? Oh, how about Pedro giving up 8 runs to frigging Baltimore of all teams. Doesn't bode well for a short series IF the Sox actually make the post season.

Lol, I love Boston's chances in a short series... Schilling, 2 of his ER were inherited, and Millar had how many errors in that inning (and wasn't charged) last game? He should have been out of that inning alot earlier. And we all know that B.More owns Pedro (something I refer to as "the Latino factor" where all the latino's know how to hit Pedro) who owns NYY. Pedro will shut NY down as usual in a short series, as will Schilling and Arroyo (if it's on the road, Arroyo hasn't done well at home at all).

Yankees suck? I dare you to walk around their baseball field at night ...
That's a pretty funny statement considering when Boston swept NY in the Bronx all you heard were Yankees Suck chants during that series, Boston fans are loud, bold, and don't give a dam. Hell, it's 5-10 degrees cooler there on average during the winter, and you thought New Yorkers were tough?
I've been at Yankee stadium MANY TIMES AT NIGHT, and nobody said sht when I wore my faded Boston cap. Now try wearing NYY gear at Fenway, that takes balls... a NY fan is much more likely to get heckled or assaulted at Fenway than a Boston fan in NY.

Wrong, never had a problem wearing my Yankees cap all over Boston. No one said anything. Hey you may bench double your weight (e-thugging?) but who cares. See thats why you should not be talking in this forum. This forum requires brains. Thanks.

He tried to choke Kapler from behind (who is half his size) and then got rocked when Ortiz and another unidentified guy came over and slammed him to the ground, then Kapler popped him while he sprawled out on the ground... very entertaining to say the least.

I didn't get a chance to see the game (and hence the brawl) and I have only read about 2.5 pages of this, so I don't know if this issue has been addressed yet. But anyway, this has to be the stupidest post I've seen thus far. Do you have any idea what happens after a brawl in baseball? Both teams get warned and the next HBP earns the pitcher and the manager a one-way ticket to the clubhouse for the rest of the game. So if anything, the NYY pitcher was SMART in showing discipline and not letting his emotions take over the game by plunking one of the Red Sox players in the bottom of the inning as NY may have needed him to stay in the game. And wow, Sturtze got beaten up by 3 Red Sox players (taken from your description of the proceedings).....that's great.....good thing it changes the fact that Boston is 9.5 GB. The brawl was pointless and will serve no purpose other than to get players suspended and produce idiotic posts on internet message boards.

-Tom
I agree, your post is one of the most idiotic on today's "internet message board" *snicker*... For a player NOT to retaliate after taking an ass whipping shows that he has to sit down to pee, and he basically knew he got what he deserved for attacking Kapler... the only reason he most likely DIDN'T throw at someone the next inning afterwards was because NY's bullpen is so abysmal and beat up that they didn't have anyone to pitch after the 3rd inning (with Kevin "omg I just injured myself getting the mail" Brown and Mike "Dead Moose" Mussina always hurt) they had no starters to fill in. Either way, I get my ass kicked and I'm beaning someone just to make a statement - I don't give a fck. And if I was Torre, I sure as hell would have given a real pitcher a chance to pitch instead of Tanyon "Hurtzme" who choked the next inning anyway by giving up 2 runs b/c he was still full of adrenaline from his asswhipping. Not that I blame him for being shaken up after that :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Yankee bullpen = 10x better than Sox bullpen. K, thanks.
Forget the bullpen, let's look at
OVERALL team pitching which includes starters and the pen. Boston is 13th in the league with a 4.18ERA, and NY is 18th with a 4.50ERA.

Thanks, but looks like you lose again, just like your pathetic and overpaid team! 's all around to my fellow Red Sox Nation!

So you lose one argument and then try to find something else out of nowhere? hehe clever. Lose again huh nice. Man I can't imagine how people close to you can stand you. ha. Perhaps you have no one close to you. Must be it. Thats where all the anger comes from. Yes I lose again if that makes you happy and joyous. Oh btw, the Yankee rotation is plagued with injuries. Thanks. Come a full healthy squad, along with a cancer free Giambi, we will see whose pathetic. Dead Sox better be afraid. 1918
I like this ESPN pic from 2004 better. Your pic is outdated, are we living in the past?

Btw, cancer free Giambi was kind of funny... even though I don't like Giambi, I would never wish cancer upon anyone. Yes, even Gayrod (and no, Giambi tested negative for cancer, you should read more).

Here is the most update picture that you requested, courtesy of MLB.com. K, thanks.

Playing in NY is a lot of pressure, it's not like in Boston where you have the consolence of knowing that, no matter what you do, you won't win. Many can handle it, most who can't can adapt, but some can't take it. It's something many players have mentioned.

After reading through what was posted after I went to bed, I swear there is something in the NY water that just makes people to the west of Connecticut naturally stupid.

Stupid enough to be rational and win world championships? Ok, if you want to call high IQs stupid, feel free. The water in Boston, of course, doesn't promote agression or bad personal hygeine habits ;)

On a completely unrelated note, I hear nine sasquatch were sighted by 50,000 people in Boston, heard anything about this?

What part of this don't you understand? If Sturtze throws at a Red Sox player in the bottom of the inning, both he and Joe Torre get ejected. It has nothing to do with "knowing that he got what he deserved" or being a wuss.....it has everything to do with making a rational decision. The fact that you would bean someone after getting your ass kicked (regardless of the situation and what the manager may say) shows that you are an irrational hothead and would not make a good team player.....I know I wouldn't want you as a teammate.

Let's think about this for a minute.....RedPickle made a claim about the Yankee bullpen in comparison to the Red Sox bullpen. You present a stat that INCLUDES STARTERS. Please tell me that you can see the problem here. Just in case you can't, here's the problem: the stats you presented includes starter's ERA which is not what was being argued. Find bullpen only stats, and base your argument on that, otherwise your argument is worthless.

ARod is no joe schmo?
His batting average certainly is. The rest of his stats are down. And don't give me this 3rd baseman BS.

Giambi is sick?
Likewise. Only moreso. Both of them being starting allstars was a joke.

Let me know when either of them even come close to their MVP years. You can probably tack on Gary Shieffield to this list, with the monster season he had last year. Sheff would have been a shooin MVP in the AL, unforunately nobody in the NL can win an MVP thanks to Bonds.

Stupid enough to be rational and win world championships?
THey haven't won a title in a few years now despite a skyrocketing payroll each year.

sp33d's arguments have no footing whatsoever, you just realized this? ;) It's well known that the Yankees' weak spot this year by a long shot is starting pitching.

Arod has frosted tips in his hair, and he's trying to act like a tough guy? Tek's bitchslap brough him down a few notches.

As for tonight, Contreras brings his 18.00 era (against the Red Sox) to Fenway. Should be a nice win for us. Maybe he'll be so embarassed afterwards him and his family will hijack a raft and go back to Cuba.

I want to bring to light a little conversation I just had:

Originally posted by: Faenix
Oh so the catcher has to protect a pitcher by getting in a batter's way and instigating a fight?

You act like you know so many things. How did he do "nothing" wrong there?

Red sox are hotheads. As sek said, they have a history of beaning the Yanks.

I'd say a lot worse about you but I'll leave it out.
.

Here's what I said:

It's a widely accepted fact that the catcher is supposed to step in and protect his pitcher in these situations... It's not my fault if you don't know this and I'm not going to argue it anymore. Also, Varitek did NOT instigate the fight. He instigated the contact, ARod instigated the fight by shouting fuk you 3 fricking times and then waving at Varitek, telling him to 'bring it on.' Go ahead, say whatever the hell you want, in the end I know I'm right.

I want to point out that I'd rather not recieve such PM's. If this method of arguing (threats, pointless opinions) is what I'm up against, I'd rather not argue, and that's why I stopped last night. The way I see it, yes, Varitek obviously initiated the physical contact, but ARod instigated the fight itself. PERIOD. You don't go crawling over to first base yelling out F-bombs without some kind of conflict coming up. Varitek had the class to admit that they both lost themselves in the moment; All ARod said afterwards is "they won the battle, we're gonna win the war." Throughout this whole thing, ARod has not yet shown an ounce of 'class'--Something I find highly overrated, especially when it involves having the same damned haircut as every one of you teammates, but I'll use it here because this is the kind of stuff you Yankee fans have been spouting.

There's no way anyone is going to convince me wrong outside of proof that Jason Varitek insulted ARod so bad that ARod's expletives mean nothing. Similarly, I don't think I'm getting my message across to a single Yankee fan here, except for maybe, MAYBE, RedPickle.

I honestly don't know about that... Contreras appears to be a different pitcher at the moment. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd probably only say 5x, but the Yanks do have a much better Pen. They used to have even BETTER.

You're almost exactly right with the 5x comment, too.

And the lowlight of the Yankees season, losing to their arch-rivals, both the fight and the game! :p
