1) Your vehicle weighs anywhere from 2500 to 6000 pounds. It takes significantly longer to bring it to a stop when there is snow/ice/slush/frozen whatever on the roads. You're an asshole when driving in normal conditions and tailgating. Now you are a dangerous asshole. Keep your distance and plan to break much sooner than you normally would.

2) If you have a 4WD vehicle and you sit in a parking lot spinning your tires because you can't find the freaking 4WD button/switch/dial/lever please for the love of God take the thing back to the dealer, give them the keys, and tell them you are too stupid to own this vehicle.

3) If you have a light pickup truck with an ass end that slides around all over the place in the winter please spend $15 and throw 300+ pounds of sandbags in the back end you cheap bastard.

4) If you are trying to take off from a stop and your tires start spinning out, press the accellerator even harder. It helps. Really.

5) Your wallowing land barge also known as a Suburban does not corner on rails when making turns in the snow. Don't turn in front of me without slowing down enough becuase you are an impatient piece of sh!t. When you do that bad things happen...like putting the back end of your 6000 pound sled up over the curb and into some guys yard. Go you!

6) Your 350Z/BMW 330i/Mustang/Ect with the low profile summer tires work great...in the summer.

and finally..

7) When you cut me off because you are such a lazy bastard that you only took enough time to wipe away a porthole size clear spot in your windshield, don't look at me like I'm the asshole. Please for the sake of anyone that has the unfortunate luck of driving anywhere within 100 feet of you, take 30 seconds out of your miserable life and scrape the snow off your rear window and your side view mirrors.

LOL

I saw the mother (well, father actually) of all idiot drivers last winter.
This was in a crowded mall parking lot just before last Christmas. There was about a foot of packed snow on the ground, covering the entire lot except for the main aisle, which had been plowed clean. The snow had been piled into about a 3 foot high mound of snow and ice at the end of one of the aisles, so you could only drive one direction (away from the main aisle) to get out of the lot. As I'm walking toward my car, I hear this redneck in his 4WD pickup yell, "The hell with this, I'm going through it!". He guns his engine, and plows headfirst into the mound of snow. Of course, he can't get over it - he gets about a third of the way up before getting stuck. So, he backs up, guns the motor again, and plows back into the mound. This time, he gets about half way up. By this time he has an audience of about 50 people. So, he backs up again, guns the motor, and gets the FRONT of his truck over the snow - the mound of snow wound up right about where his transmission was (making a satisfying crunch as his truck landed on the snow & ice). He ended up with the front end of the truck hanging out over the bare road on one side of the mound of snow, the back tires still in the snow on the other side of the mound, all four tires spinning uselessly, and a crowd of people laughing their asses off...

I hate stupid drivers. What pisses me off is that yesterday, coming home to drop my little sister off before going to work, this lady was driving her SUV out of a parking lot and she saw me coming but tried to go anyway, and I had to slam on my brakes and came within a foot of hitting her right in front of a sherriff, and he didn't even look twice. The lady then stopped going and wanted me to go, even though she had already blocked a quarter of my front end, so it added another 5 seconds for her to figure out that there was no way I was going to make it without swerving into the other lane and cutting someone else off like she did to me. :|

 for stupid drivers.

7/10 not a bad rant

I agree with most of what you said. But about the people with 4WD/AWD. Just to note if one of these cars has the stock tires or some ****** tires 4WD and AWD means pretty much nothing.

Most people have no clue about tires and that most OEM tires suck major ass.

Oh man I could probably spend the next 5 hours ranting about the retardation I encountered last night with less than ONE inch of snow on the road. When packed, it formed into ice and that apparently meant NO ONE could drive. I encountered 3 accidents in 10 minutes. It ended up taking me 90 mins to travel what would normally take me 10 because of the detours I had to take to get away from the idiots.

Thank god for 4WD/AWD

Every winter, when the first sort of heavy snow hits...its not bad, its usually pretty weak actually...but there's a ton of SUVs dumped in the ditch. Usually more than really bad snow falls later on. My theory is all the morons that just bought a SUV last year were under the mistaken impression that winter weather doesn't apply to them, and that they could go 70 on the highway regardless of weather conditions.

good rant, and definitely one I can relate with, living 18 years in Maine. Only 2 years actual driving, but still, I've seen a lot of stupid fvcks. You would not believe how idiotic people can be during big snow storms. The first big snow storm of the year (which is usually late Nov early Dec) causes so many accidents. Normal road conditions != normal road conditions + snow, drive cautiously you fvcks, I don't want to get into an accident.

Luckily I go to school in NC (WAKE), so I'll only be in Maine with sh!tty drivers for a month this winter

People actually don't drive worse in the snow around here, not that they drive well to begin with... I think it's mainly areas that don't get much snow where people are retarded about it. I seem to remember one winter a few years back one of the Carolinas got an inch of snow and was declared a disaster area because of all the accidents...? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, thats me...but that's better than trying to drive in the snow when your tires have no treads...Then again, I do have a CRV as a backup car

:) lmao

2 nights ago, we had got dumped on in western NY... nearly a foot of snow.
Semi was in the regular lane, with its flashers on, going 35 mph. There were a string of about 20 cars behind it; everyone appeared afraid to get into the passing lane (which hadn't been plowed as often.) So, they were playing it "safe" and staying behind the semi. The odd thing is that they were ALL tailgating each other. Morons.

But, I passed them all going around 55mph.
I test the road often, and am *very* aware of the traction I have available to me. Road was covered with snow, but my van still had relatively good traction. (And great tires.)

Good rant. People suck at driving in normal conditions, and their idiocy just gets multiplied ten fold in winter weather conditions. I agree with the 4WD thing... from what I've noticed, people who have 4WD/AWD tend to drive faster, and they also tend to spin out and crash faster as well because they think that if they kick it into low-range 4WD, they're good to go.

I drive a 4WD truck so I *could* be tossed into the 4WD Knucklehead category. But, I do drive responsibly. If the roads are covered I'll throw it into 4Hi and just cruise at a comfortable speed. I use the 4WD as a means of convenience instead of a safety net or magical button of invulnerability.

It's just much less...dramatic...driving with it locked into 4WD than running in 2WD. You push the gas pedal and the truck goes forward...like it's supposed to. Plus it helps to slow you down better when combined with proper braking.

Well at least they didn't call in the army to help. Several years ago, Toronto's dumbass mayor Mel Lastman called in the army to help clear out 4 or 5 feet of snow out of the downtown core.

I LOVE this time of year becuase I can sit in the living room and watch people drill the high curbs on my street. I live right on a street with an intersection that bends and the road goes downhill. Just today we have two winners - one that is gonna need a new front bumper becuase he jumped the curb and drilled a roadsign, and someone that flew down the street and didnt see the stopsign I guess and drilled the curb on the other side. last year we had 10 give or take, so I'm hoping for some more enjoyment this year!
