Hating on and acting against half the nation. Or at the very least 70+ million voters plus their dependents.
Yes. Attempting to segregate a nation has consequences. And it sure as hell will not help in winning over votes.

The South exercised their freedom to secede from the Union.
You are advocating an equivalent division, are you not?

Wow... so now a consumer deciding where or where not to spend their money is the same as segregation and secession... can this thread get any more stupid and hypocritical?

Look, if you want to lay blame for the division in this country, look to the party that calls everyone who isn't one of them traitors. Look to the party that claims to be for free speech while at the same time claiming that there can even be such as thing as treasonous speech in a free country (newsflash: there can't). Look to the party that elected a President who said that everyone who doesn't support him is human scum. Look to the party that is refusing to accept the results of an election that they clearly lost, and that is riling up its members to violence with disingenuous cries of 'stopping the steal' and other lies. Quit blaming the good people who rightly want no part in any of that obviously divisive bullshit, which can only lead to violence, and just want to exercise their God-given rights to free speech and voluntary association by spending their hard earned monies elsewhere.

It's funny to see people who have gotten used to acting like complete assholes, suddenly become petrified at the thought of people avoiding them like they've been complete assholes. And yes, I think putting party before country, putting the pride of a politician before the lives of your family and neighbors, to be the mark of a complete asshole.

I'm uncomfortable with lists, but am fine with personal conduct and social media revealing who to remove from your hiring prospects. Just let the stupidity see to itself. Why would I want to hire an absolute moron with no spine, who votes against things like equality, voting rights, fucking science...?!

Can't blame anyone for wanting nothing to do with morons and cults. There's shit to do, and indulging brainwashed people is time I'll spend elsewhere thanks.

Comes back to their issue with boycotts. It's always just and patriotic when conservatives do it. Gotta save those kids from the gays, and BLM!

Being on the receiving end however, well now, that's different. You're ruining people! How dare you not frequent the stores that bankroll the people who treat you like shit!

Boycotts are often ineffective or have unintended consequences, and blacklisting people is no different than McCarthyism. Ideologues from both parties like to play the boycott game, and yet Hobby Lobby and Chik-fil-A somehow manage to survive.

Yeh, mamby-pamby soft headed libtards have never been very good at the whole persecution thing.

Social media posts have been fair game for a decade now, with regards to hiring. Play stupid games get stupid prizes.

I don't know why you bother feeding that troll. Trump supporters could be overthrowing the Constitution and rounding up Democrats for the gas chambers and he'd still be wringing his hands with concern over 'leftist violence.'
Nah, I debunked that in the Portland thread you keep hiding from.

No, you didn't. And here you are in this thread proving me right by ignoring Trumper threats of shooting and beheading liberals just so you can tut-tut liberals for choosing to spend their own money as they see fit.

Oh, and Chick-fil-a sucks. There's like half a dozen restaurants in my Portland neighborhood that make a better chicken sandwich.. sans the side of un-American hate-filled politics and bigotry.

Nah, I linked up the posts you claim didn’t exist which is why you scurried from that thread

Lots of mom and pop places make a good chicken sandwich, but Chik Fil A’s growth is pretty astounding. The one in NYC on 37th in midtown is always busy.

Gee, sounds like the usual post election lost conservative hysteria.
Did you miss 2016? You should check it out if you really want to see hysteria.
This time around, it was pretty much a given that Trump was going down (though it was far closer than I ever dreamed it would be). Why should anyone be upset about an event we all knew was coming? Of the folks I know, the reactions I've seen from both sides are best described as "mild".

Reading comprehension is hard, isn't it???

Yeah... seems I read too much into the topic title and the OP. Without asking what the scope of this is.
But by the sound of it - far too many people want vengeance any way possible.
OTOH, letting the core of the Trump admin know they are on America's !@#$ list.... that's not the extent that this sounded like.
It may even be beneficial to pressure the organizers behind Trump for our victory in future elections.
But if we start hunting people down - it may get out of hand way too fast.

Progressives have acted like complete asshats under Trump, and now they think they have control, it's time for the revenge tour while telling the "racists" and "deplorables" to play nice or else. I'm sorry, but if you can't see the insanity of the Left, I guess you are driving the revenge bus to your authoritarian utopia.

This is silly: "I'm uncomfortable with lists, but am fine with personal conduct and social media revealing who to remove from your hiring prospects. Just let the stupidity see to itself. " You are uncomfortable with lists but will make an exception in this case? LOL at that line of thinking. I'm fine with with not dealing with a coworker or neighbor who has those kind of ridiculous thoughts. The self hate and anger is funny and the part lost on you is that Biden and Harris have actually passed and enforced laws that do those exact same things. It's as if people choose truth over facts and logic.

I recall that Hillary conceded promptly in 2016, and didn't mislead her supporters with false claims that the election was 'stolen.'
And as you've obviously missed it, like you do most things, Trump and his supporters are very upset, and not in any way 'mild.'

Not to mention that Biden's victory margin is much higher than Trump's was in 2016.

In a swing back to the 50's, some, including current congress members are calling for a list of trump supporters to be made so that they may be denied economic opportunities.

when do we start our list? does it get a sticky? do we deny them coolcoin?

or is it kept in the mods corner of old's basement?

Social conservative group "One Million Moms" boycotts Oreo cookies for supporting LGBT rights.

That, of course, is just a good old fashioned patriotic exercise of free consumer choice, of course.

Can we have a member of Congress tweet out that someone need to keep track of everyone supporting Oreo cookies? Then that list can be used one day in the future we can remember who they were so they can face the consequences.

Your comment even contradicts itself - it clearly _is_ different to McCarthyism, because those businesses do indeed survive.

That fact emphasises that there's a difference between boycotting as a consumer with very little economic power, and blacklisting as an owner-of-capital who can determine employment or access to the media.
