Yes because when Americans talk about 'the majority' they are referring to the 538 members of the electoral college.

Don't be deliberately dense. The majority voted for Clinton and it wasn't close.
I am not. My comments go to the crux of the issue with those unhappy with the results of this presidential election. You know we are not a Democracy. We have a process outlined in the Constitution on how a President will be elected. Many think we should have a democracy. Others do not. For those unhappy with our process, we have a method of change and that is also outlined in our Constitution.

The Majority is a simple concept that you don't seem to understand.
There is only one majority that matters under our Constitutionally defined Presidential election system. Is there something about that you do not understand?

What if they look at states won or Electorial College votes?

Does the president represent land, 270+ people out of a pool of 538, or the American people?

The entire point of what I said is to get at how the right has continually been working to extract maximum advantage from various ways in which the process in this country is not democratic.

This is false, we are absolutely a democracy. People frequently make a basic mistake where they think that constitutional republics are not democracies and that's wrong.

He represents the people. The right has nothing to do with how the Electorial College is set up.

This country is not a democracy. High School civics. It is a representative republic.

Honestly, I could stand ANY OTHER Republican candidate, because they were known quantities. We hate trump because he's a vile, pathological lire with a history of being a sexual deviant and a bigot. He's also the poster child for 'failing upward'. And, it's looking more and more likely that he's been in bed with the Russians for a long time. What is there to like?

Quite true. OTOH, honest people who found themselves on the winning side even though an actual minority would temper their words & deeds out of respect for their fellow Americans.

Probably not, huh?

It's hard to claim a mandate while losing the popular vote by almost 3 million votes and a 43 percent approval rating .
If the majority of votes mattered to anybody except butt hurt lefties, than Trump would have won those too. If approval ratings mattered to anyone except butt hurt lefties than Trump would win those too, but they don't.
