True, but if the crime was assault on Zimmerman by Martin then the shooting was legal. I'm not saying Zimmerman is innocent, i'm saying no one knows what happened except Zimmerman and the rest of us have to wait for all the forensic evidence to be examined and a trial (if any) to be held.

I suspect they already have the forensics evidence including ballistic data. State's Attorney Corey has clamped down on all concerned.

I don't know, i'd think hard evidence would have been out by now, my bet is they're having everything checked, double checked and then checked again. Then have it sent to the FBI etc. to checked again, this is a big case and no professional wants to look like a dumbshit.

Like most others here, I think the forensic tests are likely done. (If they need DNA testing that may be another matter.)

Might be possible that since the FBI was only recently involved there is a delay as they get the evidence and redo every test.

But even if all the forensic tests are finalized, they are not going to release anything until the prosecution has finished analyzing everything, including prior case law etc, and made a decision. I would also guess that if the decision is to go to trial they may not release it either. IDK, but in that case we may just have to wait and see it as it dribbles out in court. I would think releasing it before trial may taint any jury.

I believe 2 things about this case - regardless of what 'really' took place that night - the only racism in play here was on the part of the police that night - surely if Z was dead and Martin was the shooter, I feel confident in saying that Martin would still be jail. The other is that people blindly and constantly defending Z are doing so because they are paranoid about a law with the word gun mentioned somewhere in it being criticized, or worse yet, possibly changed or eliminated - stock up on ammo folks, they are coming for your guns!!!!
