Lots of gaming websites and self proclaimed "serious gamers" are all excited about it.
The idea of evolving controllers is great...but in practice...I don't see how anyone other than kids under 10 will think this is really all that great.
How many adults want to be flailing around there living room trying to play a video game? Not me. I play video games to relax. If I wanted to play football, I'd go outside and throw a ball. If I wanted to play golf...the real thing is 100x better.
I'm perfectly happy with the current crop (x360) controllers that wirelessly let me plop my ass on the couch and enjoy an hour of two of relaxing gaming. Not to mention how many adult males will suddenly find themselves single when there SO sees them fighting Darth Vader with a funky remote in the living room shouting out "Father, I know you are still good!"

This is EXACTLY why I'm down on the Wii... Im an adult and i like to sit with my wireless controller and headset with my 360 (now dead RIP 360) and sit on a big old lazyboy chair and relax..
That and the game selections and notorious pussified no adult versions of games that nintendo usually pushes doesnt attract me at all.

My DS has brought me to a little epiphany: I don't need good graphics, I need good gameplay. That is what Nintendo is all about.

You guys don't understand the control scheme at all. It's based on simple gestures; whether you want to exaggerate the gestures into large flailing movements is completely up to you. For example, if I wanted to take a swing in Wii Sports Tennis, it could be as simple as a flick of the wrist in one direction, or I could stand up and take larger swings; the end result is the same on-screen movement.

thats funny I had a DS for about 6 months.. and I found it to be nthe most worthless handheld Id ever had...
id take an Atari Lynx over this POS...
the PSP i traded it on was way better... too bad neither one has any "great" games.

That must be why the DS was outselling the PSP 9:1 over the last few months in Japan, and 2:1 in the US. I guess gamers around the world have it all backwards.

just becasue little kiddies buy it in droves doesnt make it a better system.. the PSP is not aimed at kiddies and has the pricetag and the games to prove it..
I would never buy my child a PSP too delicate for children but I'll sure as heck buy them a DS virtually indestructable with good kiddy games.. that and the enormous old library of compatible games sells systems..
Me I prefer the movies.. music, pictures, the wireless internet and the more adult like games that the PSP offers.. even if none of them are spectacular either.. but id rather play burnout on the PSP over mariocart on the kiddy DS..

"Little kiddies" weren't responsible for the PS2's success; why aren't they buying PSPs in droves?
Funny you would mention "little kiddies" being responsible for those figures, when it's a well known fact that Nintendo attracted an older demographic with their DS (with games like Brain Age selling millions of copies).
So what are your 30+ year old IT buddies doing with their PSPs? Probably playing NES and SNES games. :laugh:Originally posted by: CVSiN
Funny that at least here I only see children with it and in the game stores buying freaking pokemon crap and other crappy japanese kiddy games... every 30+ year old I know in IT has a PSP..
and if the PSP had the calibur of games that the PS2 had when it was in its heyday it would be outselling eveyrthing.. but the fact is the PSP games are crap and the only thign the PSP has going for it is its other features.
