I like those visa card commercials that show everybody in line using visa or some sort of credit card. All of a sudden you see some bitch come up with a check and it pisses even the cashier off LOL.....

It's about time someone made that....

No, that is an idiotic commercial. Why do so many people use credit cards to pay for *everything*? $1.50 for drink at 7-11? Visa. $2.25 at the coffee shop? Visa. This is just idiotic. I *hate* these people! :| have you ever heard of an ATM? Its the machine that dispenses CASH.

I never carry cash with me. The most I've ever carried is 100 dollars. You get robbed that cash is gone. You get robbed with a checkbook or visa card theres a chance (pretty high with cc) that the person who robbed you willl get notthing.

now getting robbed is the reason to pay with a CC? Maybe Visa will make a commercial with that

When you pay with cash, you end up with change. Change can often times fall out of your pocket, or for some other reason end up hardly being used, meaning you've wasted money. Credit cards are a good way of not having to deal with a pocket full of nickels and dimes.

That logic makes no sense. If you have a sale of $20 and get 2 bucks change you can keep it by paying cash, or you can give it to your CC company as interest. I prefer to keep my money.

Your logic only applies if you are using a check card.

If you money has so little value to you that you might let it fall out of your pocket then just give it to me instead, I will keep a better eye on it and not let it get away.

or if you aren't an idiot and pay it off every month.

99% of people who have CCs are idiots. Trust me, I have experience in that industry. :)

Seriously, I had a man come into Radio Shack the one day and refuse to pay with the little touchpad because he was scared that they would "capture" his signiture and use it everywhere. He made me swipe it, then signed it with a pen, because you know that is SOOOOOOOO much safer.

People are paranoid.

I just never sign my real signature to begin with.
I usually just blot down inane scribbles.
No one ever cares.

So by your statement with electronic paperless methods of payment becoming more prevalent most everyone are idiots. No, let me guess you use check and cash for everything. Because you can watch your money LOL :). I think if you could you would pay people in gold dust.

The truth of the matter is check writters are of a different demographic (older, less accepting). Luckily old people die off and us youngens bring in new ideas and thoughts. I would say death in general is bad but in this case it's pretty good.

You might find an aborigine tribe somewhere in the depths of Africa that still pay people in beeds or some weird special rocks they find on the ground...... Do humanity a favor and Book a one way ticket.

Many people don't relize the signature makes no sense what so ever. They only use it when you complain or dispute a charge. Even then they may not use it still. I normally just draw a line that in no way represents my sig.

Many people don't know how to use a Credit Card. That's the problem. The check writters get scared and put on their tin foil hat as soon as they hear CC. You can get a CC and not pay one red penny in your whole life. If you pay your balances off in full at the end of the month. Thus taking advantage of the special services a CC has to offer (miles, cash back, points, discounts, travel rewards etc....) I have a discover miles card. I use it for all my bills every month. I then pay it off in full at the end of the month. I get like 2 to 3K miles every month.....

Don't most stores print the blank check for you, then you just have to sign?

Incidentally, the only check I write every month is for my rent and I prefer that to be a check so I have positive proof that it was deposited by my apartment managers. A confirmation number is one thing, but the official stamp on the back of the returned check carries more weight I think. Regardless, they only accept personal checks and certified checks, no plastic.

I don't know. When I rented they had a drop box where we dropped payment. Unfortunatley I could only use check. But when you payonline you can print out proof of payment twords the end of the transaction. I think most likely you have a higher chance of getting screwed with a check. For one they can say they never got your check even though they did and never deposited it. With online payment you submit payment online and print confirmation. If they ever complain you have that confirmation and normally most online payment methods have a profile where they show all your online payments....
