This is the same guy that doesn't understand that people hate iTunes because it sucks...

I thought that most people disliked it because it was bloated and the Windows install comes with a bunch of other junk they don't want.

The music player part of the application itself isn't bad, but it's a serious victim of feature creep and tacked on bits. They should really separate the store portion of the software from the music player portion and move the apps and books (maybe even the movies) into their own applications as well.

For anyone with a huge library of music iTunes is a total joke. So far Winamp is the only music player I have found that makes it easy to wade through my piles of music.

I don't want to get into the whole iTunes discussion here, one way or another, people have legitimate reasons to dislike it, and zen0 discounts all of them as "you're too stupid to use it". I'm just saying - this is who we are dealing with in this thread, so take it as you will.

I've been a Winamp user since its earliest versions. Love it. Used iTunes for about an hour when I bought an iPod a few years ago. Total, complete, junk. Uninstalled > Google > iTunes alternative for managing iPod > ml_ipod for Winamp.

Zen0, please use less confrontational language or else I'll lock the thread as being a troll thread.

Watching the Google IO stream makes this claim even more insane.

Android is stomping all over iOS.

Boy did the OP get pwned. 400,000 activations. 200k apps. Music service with 85gb free. Yep, it's going the way of the dinosaur all right.

Well, OK compare to other major hardware/software makers:

- MS - Major product is Windows (with Office perhaps in second), and IBM clones are not the highest growing personal computers around. MS needs to move into tablets/smartphones, hence the alliance with Nokia.

- Acer - Released a tablet, but is so far not competing with the iPad, Xoom, Galaxy Tab or any of the other major models. IBM clones is its major market.

- HP - Want to get into the cloud, but is the major IBM clone maker globally. It cannot forego that (who would) to focus on Internet-based applications

- Lenovo - What else do they do apart from IBM clones?

- Samsung - Is healthy due to a spread amongst smartphones and tablets.

- Dell - Same as Lenovo. Its smartphones have never truly impressed, for one.

I'd say very few major hardware/software makers globally have it easy. As for Dropbox, I'm surprised a larger company has not acquired it yet. Maybe Google has that planned per its latest strategic plan, who knows? lol..

Google says the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android will "all be open source," including APIs for face-tracking and other new features. Developers will be able to account for all form factors within this same version of the OS, and Google will be adding a lot of UIs to accommodate Android devices of all shapes and sizes.

lol, yeah this guy looks like a fool especially after watching google i/o right now

The first day of google i/o sounded pretty lackluster. Anything in particular you think is groundbreaking?

Streaming movies...yawn
Cloud storage...yawn
Music program with no record companies on board yet....yawn

Edit: Just read about android@home. There are hardly any 3rd party accessories out there for most android phones, how about they focus on that before it becoming an 'all in one home solution'

Please stop the negative comments on the OP and more on what he's saying. The article is from Dailytech and it has some not so nice things to say about Google - respond to them or to what is written, and no more personal attacks/snide comments.

Not only market capitalization, but Apple is now the most powerful brand and arguably COMPANY in the world.

Now I love shiny gadgets as much as everyone else, but I can't help thinking that you might be overstating their importance here.

You're a mod... and thus I respect your lightning bolt. But the guy is clearly a troll, do you really think any discussion with the OP would yield legitimate conversation? I'd rather call him out as a troll and move on. I won't post in this thread again...

You're a troll for having a differing opinion. There are so many trolls in this world! 🙄

It's funny that the phrase "much like Apple" is used critically in that article. I thought that the OP would be more supportive.

Yes, Cloud Storage is so horrible. Who the hell would even care about that. Being able to access your music anywhere sucks.

What the hell are you even talking about?

Blowing Steve Jobs.
People like him can't fathom the fact that there are people that haven't fallen for the false advertising and lifestyle pimping that Apple has been pushing. They see computers and cell phones as fashion statements, not devices to use to access information.

They care more about what someone thinks about them than they do what the device can actually do.
If they cared what it could actually do, no one would use a Mac. That's why they had to develop BootCamp. Because Apple can't do everything a PC can. They've just brainwashed people into thinking it can (By running Windows. lol)
