There are also baseball leagues in some latin american countries, mexico, puerto rico, dominican republic, korea, australia (there are a couple australians in the major leagues I think). I think taiwan has a baseball league as well. Baseball is growing and I think there will be a true "world series" one day.

Basketball is also growing globally. Hockey is global. Golf is global. Tennis and soccer are loved here in america except at the professional level for some reason. Only NFL Football is truely a US only sport.

...hey.. no love for Bowling? ;) I bowled a 175 a couple of days ago..thats not too bad.

Baseball is popular there because of US influence. Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Korea, Cuba (you forgot them) are all places that the US military has been too. Taiwan has baseball because the Japanese brought it over when they made it a colony in the 1900s.
