Of course there are also plenty of americans (like me and almost everyone I know) that dislike 99.9% of all team sports.

And you are comparing this to what? Baseball? HAHAHA

Basketball? second most boring, second only to baseball

Football? STOP go STOP go STOP GO

soccer is non-stop action

Lets not forget hockey here, the best of all sports!!

And your right about basketball, the NBA is just a non-stop foul fest filled with a bunch of guys who all they know how to do is miss shots and travel.

My beloved football is STOP go STOP go, but on every play something happens, whether its the defense making a stop, or the offense moving forward. Every play has the potential to be big in either direction, and there's always someone getting hit!

Not really, especially if you've actually played soccer. Most NA eventually realize the sport is boring and there are better ones out there. In other countries however, soccer is all they have.

If you call running long distance up and down a field and rarely having the ball for more than a few secs, yes, that's non-stop action LOL

Not much happens and scores are usually 1-2. Any more questions?

Even the NHL tries to shoot for an average of 7 goals per game. This is done via rule changes, but to a greater extnet by managing the referees. The NHL will tell refs to call the games tighter when the average is say 6. More tightly reffed games implies more power plays implies more goals.

The problem is with Soccer itself. And it probably explains why indoor soccer is more populaar in the US while full field out door is only watched by few on the collegiate level.

Baseball also adjust the "reactiveness" of hte baseball they use on a yearly basis. They also want an average nuymber of runs per game. Each year they adjust to get more/less homeruns.

I always loved that...America has a "world series" baseball game and they're the only competitors ;)

At least with cricket and Australia we play games like "Australia v Rest of the world" (aka World XI team, collection of the best players around the world)

Its strange how soccer isnt as popular as it should be. In colorado Soccer is hands down the most popular youth sport from K to 12. Its huge here and my daughter has a tryout sat morning for a competive team.

I guess the reason is the networks dont cover MLS as much as the other sports is because they cant bring in the $$$ like they can with the NBA, NFL and MLB. The only time you see NHL games are during the playoffs so there isnt much oppertunity to create player recognization that creates a following. I am also suprised on how long MLS has been around, it did not fold like the WNBA.
