Then go to the local grocery store.

You're not only paying for the ingredients; you're paying for the employees' wages, marketing, etc.

On that note, I'd say get the 5-5-5 deal from Dominos and add on some wings.

Bigger question is why Dominos is still in business... it's the worst chain store and none of the chain stores compare to mom & pop pizza places

Because it's open until 2AM (around here) and is great for drunks who don't care about how much they're spending.

Been there, done that.

I am ordering online. Where are they online coupon's ? Im so Hungry right now im thinking of just ordering it right now. $40 tho is like geezus. Double of what it used to be

uh, they even have a "use a coupon" link right underneath your order...

extra toppings is where they really get you. most places is like 1.50 per topping.

Yeah, right!

Last price I saw per pound for wholesale (the price that decent pizzarias should be paying) was well under $1.50 per pound for low moisture, part skim mozzarella cheese. A typical large 16" pizza contains about 1 pound of cheese, give or take depending on the restaurant. Sauce runs around $18 per case (6 large cans), and that goes a long ways. Pepperoni & other toppings are the most expensive on a per pound basis, but it certainly doesn't make up more than half the cost to make a pie.

I remember when I went to visit my sister in Philadelphia we got 2 16 inch pizzas, 50 buffalo wings & two 2 liter bottles of soda for $25.00.

:camera: of 16 inch?

Just your standard New York style pizza. I ate so much that night I thought I was going to burst.

That looks like it was made by someone who had never made a pizza pie before...Just throw all the shit on it somewhere...never mind doing it evenly, then, stick it in the oven and burn it. He's probably too drunk to notice...or too hungry to care.

I'd have to be literally starving with NO other options before I'd eat a Domino's pizza...even Pizza Hut and Little Ceasars are better...and they're at the bottom of the barrel.

I'm not picky about looks so it looks like an ok pizza to me, good enough to eat, but does it taste bread-y like in the past? I quit Dominos a few years ago and moved to Papa Johns, which is only a minor step up. I like PH best because you taste more cheese than bread. You definitely taste more oil. 😉

BTW, DiGiorno's for $4.

While Costco's pizza aren't the best pizzas, it's dammed near impossible to beat the quality for the price. 18" pie for $9.99? Hell, I don't think you can make one at home for that price... I've seen people buying them for years, but never tried one...until last year. Now, probably 90% of the pizza we buy is from Costco.
(unfortunately for me, my wife is lactose intolerant, so we don't have pizza very often anymore)

Who ever made that sucked!

My pizzas were works of art. Perfectly round, no burn marks. Wish I had took pics of some of them 🙂

ProfJohn, pizza delivery guy?

I'll either pick up a hot pizza from Sam's Club for about $9, or use one of the Papa John's coupons I have hanging on the fridge.

Full price is for suckers when it comes to pizza chains.

FYI most restaurants have a 400% mark up on food.

That $10 pizza cost them about $2.50 to make. They need to huge mark up to cover all the other costs.

25% labor, 25% food, 25% over head etc and perhaps 25% profit if you are lucky.

Yeap... for about 6 years in my younger days.

It really is an amazing job. Driving around listening to the radio and making $10-15 an hour.
When I moved to Orlando I was making $80+ a night plus pay and gas money.

And the most work I did was loading a dishwasher and some other odd jobs.

BTW I could do all the cool pizza tricks.

Throw it up and catch it. Spin on one finger. I get a kick out of watching people who are clueless try to do the same things.

BTW Pizza hut had MUCH better quality than Dominos, but the Dominos I worked for was a franchise and was cheap on labor. So that is how you end up with pizzas in the pics. Try making 20-30 pizzas and hour and make them look good. Takes dedication and desire to actually want to make them look good.

You must have been getting laid non-stop.

😛

oh yea.... hot chicks dig the pizza man

Spin a pizza on one finger and smile to the girls "just think of what else I can do with this finger" 😉

Get the Sam's Club pizzas at Walmart. $9 for a 16" loaded with four types of meat. Tastes better than most chains.

Yep the Costco/Sam's Club pizzas are the best deal for any pizza around.
